Currently I am working as a Research Associate for a Global Drug Discovery Company, and I want to get into pharma management by doing MBA, So kindly assist me in selection of university/college for doing MBA and which specialization to opt for? And what kind of positions I can get into?

I did Masters Degree in Organic Chemistry, and have over Two years of experience.

You have excellent qualifications to suit for studying MBA i.e., 2 years job experience + Masters degree. There are so many specializations in MBA like
1. Marketing
2. Finance
3. H.R. and etc.,
It depends on your interest to choose which specialization adds more value for you. My advice is please go for Marketing dept., because you are having these two skills
1. Master level technical knowledge in your field.
2. First hand experience of the market in the real world.
So you can best suit in Marketing field. From now on wards prepare for CAT/MAT and be thorough in that so that you can reach IIMs / ISB.
You can also do MBA in Biotechnology (as it is also a life sciences course like pharmacy). In India Pumba university in Pune will be best for MBA in biotech.
So all the best for your future and go ahead

Your current profile is good. Hope so, It wont be tough for you to get placed in a good B-School.
Pursuing General MBA, which I believe, will do good. If you are very specific about Pharma, You can do Masters Diploma in Pharmaceutical Marketing Management or PG Diploma in Pharmaceutical Marketing.

General Management is afforded in Almost all B-Schools.

As you are having a two year experience as a research associate in a company for two years , that will benefit you definitely !!

Specializations are available in the following functions: Business Analytics, Product Marketing, Business Development and Payor Marketing ..

You need to apply for Pharmaceutical management / marketing and the best college to which admission is open for it is IIPM , Lucknow for which the last date to apply is 31.07.2010 for august batch ..

But if you are not in hurry of admission that you can go through CAT , MAT , XAT , JMET etc. which are used to admit students in various top names in India such as IIMs ,.. for which the notifications are yet to be published ..

if you have interest in pharma marketing then marketing is the best option for you as your MBA subject otherwise HR,finance are the option which may lift your carrier at the best position

there are entrance exams for the admission, for NIPER firstly you have to qualify GATE,GPAT,NET and must have degree with 60% and then you are elegible for the entrance exam for niper
