Accounting is Of 60 Marks , For Mercantile Laws its 40 , For General Economics its 50 and For other One its also 50. Passing % :- You Should score at-least 50% Overall Subjects to Crack CA-CPT. And yes Individual Marks also effects a lot you need to crack 30% in each Subject that means if a paper is of 50 marks then minimum Passing marks For this will be 16. And In CA-CPT Pattern Maximum marks is 200 and To get Pass in this Exam you need to score at-least 100 Marks i.e 50%. Note* They do have Negative Marking for the same So be careful while attempting a question. If you are Not sure then Do think afterwards after attempting known ones. |

Re: Marks required to pass CPT entrance exam?
You need to get minimum of 50% of marks out of 200 marks but the idea of increase in marks from 100 to 120 is under discussion of officials. So as of now it is 100 marks in total and 30% in individual subject.

Re: Marks required to pass CPT entrance exam?
CA foundation comprises of 4 papers,2 being subjective and another 2 being objective. Each paper consist of 100 marks which makes the total 400 marks. The objective papers are subject to negative marking of 1/4th marks, and the correct answer will be awarded 1 marks each. Students must score 40% in individual subjects(40 out of 100) and 50% in aggregate(200 of 400) in one sitting to be declared as passed.Earlier CPT requires only 30% in individual subjects which makes the course more tougher.
Student's generally clear this exam based on their hard work not like other exams where reservation systems are followed. Chartered accountancy course is one of the toughest and reputed course in commerce field. The results of the CPT generally lies between 25-40% which gradually decreases as level increases. |

Re: Marks required to pass CPT entrance exam?
ICAI had implemented two type of cutoffs in CA CPT exam like all other exams of ICAI and you need to clear both of them. One is section wise or subject wise and other one is a overall cutoff.
Section or subject wise-Sectional cutoff for CPT Fundamentals of Accounting-30% of 60 marks Mercantile Laws-30% of 40 marks General Economies-30% of 50 marks Quantitative Aptitude-30% of 50 marks Overall cutoff for CPT -50% marks After implementing this type of cutoffs Student cannot leave any subject untouched. For clearing, exam student has to complete all the subjects |
