Is Maths an essential subject for JAM?
Hi..!
I am doing my b.sc in geology with additional subjects chemistry,zoology and language.I did my 10+2 from pcb group.I heard that maths is essential subject for jam.am I eligible for jam plzz tell me as soon as possible. |

The notification for JAM 2016 has been released and below is the required academic qualification for the candidates to take this exam.
Candidates of General category should score a minimum of 55% of marks in the Graduation. Candidates of SC/ST/PWD should score a minimum of 50% of marks in their Graduation to take this Exam. Candidate who are pursuing final year of Graduation also can apply for this exam provided that they would be able to show the proof of passing in Graduation by 30th September 2016. Since you are pursuing B.Sc in Geology, in your stream the following academic programs are available. -M.Sc in Applied Geology -Joint M.Sc-Ph.D in Geology -Joint M.Sc-Ph.D in Geo-Physics -Joint M.Sc-Ph.d in Atmosphere and Ocean Sciences In order to apply for any of these programs, the common requirement is, one should have completed 12th class with Mathematics as one of the subject. As you have completed your 12th class with PCB stream with -Biology -Physics -Chemistry I am sorry to say that you are not eligible to apply for this Exam. However you can do M.Sc course in other universities. Each and every university will conduct its own Entrance Exam for the candidates to give admission for M.Sc course. Collect the list of top universities offering M.Sc in Geology and select the best out of them. Know the eligibility criteria and selection process. Crack the selection process and get admission. |

No. Maths is compulsory for only some of the M.Sc courses.
JAM Eligibility - You should have completed (10+2) with PCM or PCB as a main subjects from a recognized board. - No age limit. Exam Pattern - Total Questions : 60 - Total Marks : 100 - Time Duration : 3 Hours - Negative marks for each wrong answer , 1/3 for 1 mark question and 2/3 for 2 marks question. JAM Important Dates - Online Application Starts From : September 2016 - Last Date of Application : October 2016 - Exam Conducted : February 2017 - Result Declaration : March 2017 |

Yes ,definitely mathematics is a compulsory subject to appear in this exam. Minimum qualification required to appear in this exam is bachelor degree from recognised University in science stream with minimum 50% marks for general and OBC candidates and 45% for reserved category.

Yes, Maths is an essential subject for JAM.
Eligibility criteria required for JAM are as under :- -The candidate should have a Bachelor’s degree from a recognized university. -The candidate must have secured at least 55% (50% for SC/ST/PWD candidates) marks in aggregate without rounding off, (taking into account all subjects, including Languages and Subsidiaries, all years combined) for General/OBC-NCL Category Candidates. -The candidate appearing in their final year examination are also eligible to apply provided they show proof of passing the qualifying exam by September 30, 2016. -There is no age restriction for JAM 2016. |

If I am teaching bsc from geology honours and generic subject is math and physics then I want to know that in jam entrance exam,from which which subject ask question it means from only geology or also from math and physics,please help me

JAM is a Joint Admission Test for MSc.its an all india online entrance exam conducted by IITs.
It is not necessary that Math should be your subject for some of the course. You should be PCB or PCM.
