MCA IS ART SCIENCE DEGREE OR ENGINEERING DEGREE

MCA is not an arts degree. It is not an engineering or science degree also. It is basically a professional degree which is technical in nature. It is related to computers and programming, that is why it is technical in nature. In the job industry it is considered almost equal to B.Tech degree. Salary will be close to the B.Tech candidates. Also they will be eligible or the M.Tech course after completing MCA.

because MCA is equivalent to B.tech degree .
if you want to do MCA and not want to do M.tech then
its having no prob with it .

hello friend,

MCA can be explained in two ways.

one is it is a professional degree which cis useful for our daily life.

second is it is a post graduate degree.

to enter MCA, you have to study mathematics in 12th or any degree you pursued.

From software industry perspective, there woudn't be any difference betwee these two. To teach in Eng.college MCA, am not sure whether eng. stream MCA is expected.

But, as far as the teaching standards are concerned, if it is in a government istitution, better to choose arts and science mode. Because, in engineering mode, as per AICTE norms, mere PG (MCA/M.E/M.Tech) is enough . But in arts and science stream PG (with or without M.Phil) Plus UGC NET/SET/SLET/Ph.D is a must. So, demand for faculty eligibility in Arts and science stream (provided you are doing it in a Government college/equivalent standards followed in a standard private institution).
