VAO stands for Village Administrative Officers which is conducted by TNPSC.

If you have 12th standard OR graduation degree then you are applicable for VAO exam but you age should be in between 21 to 30 years old.Age relaxation is provide as per govt rule But you must know the Tamil language.

VAO Exam Eligibility Criteria:-

• You need to be a 10th pass out to sit for this exam. That is the minimum qualification required.
  
• Candidates with higher qualifications can also apply for this exam provided they have the S.S.L.C. certificate to show.
  
• The minimum age limit is 20 years and upper age limit for general category candidates is 30 years. The upper age limit for reserved category candidates is 40 years.
  
• You should be fluent in Tamil language since you will be posted in the villages of Tamilnadu.
  
• You have to show the authorities concerned medical certificates to prove your medical fitness.

VAO Exam Pattern:-

The entire selection process is dependent on the written exam so it is of vital importance no doubt. Two sections needs to be answered. One is general knowledge and the second is optional- general english/general tamil.

The full paper needs to be completed in three papers and the total marks allotted for the exam is 300 marks. Questions will be of S.S.L.C. standard. The first paper is can be answered either in Tamil or English.

It should be noted that the selection procedure though is primarily dependent on the written exam but some other factors are also taken into consideration like the district chosen by you and the number of reservations of the district in question.
