You have to select optional for second level of Civil Service exam. Name of that exam is IAS mains exam or Civil Service mains exam. you need to select two optional subjects of your choice from the pre defined list of optional subject. This pre defined list is prepared by UPSC. Here is the list have a look upon it. >>Agriculture >>Management >>Animal Husbandry & Vetinary Science >>Mathematics >>Anthropology >>Mechanical Engineering >>Botany >>Medical Science >>Chemistry >>Philosophy >>Civil Engineering >>Physics >>Commerce & Accountancy >>Political Science & International Relations >>Economics >>Psychology >>Electrical Engineering >>Public Administration >>Geography >>Sociology >>Geology >>Statistics >>Indian History >>Zoology >>Law As you are related to medical background you can select your subjects which may be difficult if you're not strong with your background. No need to worry if you like any other optional subjects you're free to select them there is no such rule by UPSC that the students must not select other subjects apart from their background. so you are free to select any optional subject from the above list it may be of your background or not. This is all about your query. Regards |
