Is Ph.D necessary after doing masters in Librari Science with 60% marks


respected sir,
i have done masters in library science with 60% marks,and i also have qualified ucg net exam dec 2012, is doing phd necessary for me,for which posts i can apply now,and for which posts i wiil be eligible to apply after completing phd in related subject
