Yes, in communication systems, sound energy are converted into electrical energy. For example when we communicate over mobile phone from one place to another place, when we speak, we generate sound signals which is caught by microphone and further converted into electrical signal.

The electrical signal is transmitted from one tower to another and reaches another mobile phone where the electrical signal is again converted into sound signal, the person hears whatever one person has said from first place. Sound energy can be converted into electrical energy and vice versa.
Do you have any question? or have anything to say?
