ISRO can provide you a good platform for NASA.

The stage of things for NASA: 1) have skills NASA needs. Computer knowledge helps, but NASA doesn't use all computers and is amazingly computer phobic at various levels (this is a factor why Kalpana's loss is also significant to the astronaut corps as she was probably the most computationally experienced of any of them).

2) Get Permanent Residency. Then get Citizenship (become a Naturalized citizen).

3) Have good problem solving skills. Try to find a fit (a niche). Flight experience helped Kalpana (she was a pilot if not an astronaut pilot). If you have any accent, try to lose it (improve your English language skills: I asked Kalpana if she was ever going to be CAPCOM, and she said, no (slight accent).

4) Path B: Join the Indian Space Program. Work in joint projects and in an exchange capacity. The closest NASA Office in Asia is in US Embassy in Tokyo.
