To become a pilot, aspirants need to join Air flying schools after completion of 10+2..

Education Qualification:--

they should pass the 10+2 exam with physic, chemistry, math.
Minimum marks should be 50%.

They need to clear the entrance test exam of the flying schools in India, they also need to clear the physical fitness (Which is tough one). Only totally fit person can get opportunity to get admission in flying schools.

Don’t confuse with the job of pilot of Indian air Force. IAF pilot is selected through NDA exam, training is free!!!!!

There are two ways to become pilot.

Taking admission in flying institute in india
or
join in Indian Airforce

Eligibility criteria is same for the both, but entrance exam is different.

Eligibility criteria for pilot:

  • Minimum 12th standard education qualification with physic, chemistry and maths subjects.
  • Age should be 18 to 21 years
  • Height should be minimum 157cm
To get admission in the Indian Airforce, you have to give NDA exam, which notification will be releasing in the month of October every year.
If you qualify in NDA exam, you can choose Pilot course in your training.

If you are not qualified for NDA,you become Pilot by taking training in private institute.

To take admission in private institute you have pay lot of money for the course. The expenditure for this course will be 3 lakhs minimum,if you do in normal institute.
So i suggest you to prepare for NDA exam, and get admission.

There are three licences, which you have to acquire to become a pilot

Student’s Pilot Licence (SPL)
Private Pilot Licence (PPL)
Commercial Pilot Licence (CPL).

Eligibility To become a Pilot-

one should have the licence of SPL for which matriculation and 16 years of age.

To get a CPL, one should have passed 10+2 examination with Physics and Mathematics
and must be between the age of 18-30 years

The Student’s Pilot Licence is the first stage of training.

The SPL examination is held every month all over India by the flying clubs.

Private Pilot License (PPL),

comprises 60 hours of flying (40 hours with flying instructor & 20 hours solo) under the
flying instructor.

Commercial Pilot Licence (CPL),

a minimum of 250 hours of flying (including 60 hours of PPL) is necessary. To get a CPL,

Basic qualification for pilot training is successful completion of 10+2/equivalent with 50% marks in Physics and Maths. The applicant should have completed 17 years of age.

The first step in Pilot training is acquiring of Student Pilot Licence (SPL). Thereafter he can start flight training to get Private Pilot Licence (PPL). This includes 60 hours of flying comprising 20 hours of dual flying, 20 hours of solo flying and 5 hours cross country flying.

Theoretical examination's have to be passed in subjects like Air Regulation, Navigation, Aviation Meteorology, Aircraft and Engines, After PPL another 190 hours of flying training is required for Commercial Pilot's Licence (CPL) i.e., a consolidated 250 hours of flying training. A flight radio operators licence and radio telephone licence have to be obtained. During CPL, the candidate should have exposure to a range of aircraft and fulfill other conditions like specified hours of solo flying, cross country flying and height flying. Theeoretical papers have to be cleared and medical tests passed. It usually takes 2 to 3 years before required flying hours and classroom learning are completed.

Entry to the PPL course is through an entrance test conducted at certain centres. The test is based on subjects like English, General Knowledge, Maths, Physics and Chemistry. Applications are called in April and sent to The Director General of Civil Aviation (Training Section) Technical Centre, Opp. Safdarjang Airport, New Delhi-110 003.

Prospects:

After getting an Indian license, one can apply to the airlines for jobs. One may join as a pilot and work upwards to become a Commander. In Indian Airlines, it may take 8-10 years to get command of a jet aircraft. Private airlines may take only half the time, since the flying hours that the pilot puts in are much higher.

These days there is a shortage of pilots and foreign airlines such as Gulf Air, Emirates, Singapore Airlines and Air Lanka frequently hire Indian pilots. With Asia opening up, salaries have multiplied and it is not surprising to hear of a monthly salary of $6,000 after taxes (about Rs 2 lakh) or even a higher figure of $12,000. Apart from this, one may get to fly a bigger and more modern aircraft with a foreign airline.

YOU NEED A PASS IN THE CBSE EXAM FOR PHYSICS AND MATHS IN CLASS XII FOR THAT

it's really really nice to see someone interested in my field

anyways the first thing you need to do is to get the list of doctors who are elligible to take a medical examination on you as per the rules of the D.G.C.A

then take your class II medical exam with him
after he declares you fit

then you can submit your name for classI medical which makes you elligible for pursuing a course in piloting

generally the rush in this field is so much and ppl are so-what you call ludicrous nature over their fake sweet nature

i mean the competition in this field is too much,(but it's not mentioned because the fees is so much in this field)
that class I centres are flooded with so many applicants and you wont be able to get a date for the examination till the next year i.e 2009 since you are in the XII grade

anyways when you get your class I done
then search for a flying school of your choice and the fees you can pay

the fees for flying schools in
india is 16-17 lakhs
phillipines 15-16 lakhs
america 18-20 lakhs
australia 20-25 laks

the authenticity of the flying schools increases as you go down this list
you can mortgage your property that your parentz own(of course you dont) for the bank loan etc etc
