i want to be in crime branch in india, please let me know in which examination i have to pass?

To become a CBI officer you need to satisfy the following eligibility criteria:-


CBI officer:-

Any graduate in any discipline from any recognized university can give the exam.
age should be between 20-27 years.

Selection procedure includes written exam followed by personal interview.

syllabus:- part i- general test, general reasoning and intelligence, general awareness and numerical ability.

part ii- english language, language comprehension, communication/ writing and ability test.

For become CBI officer to appear CGPE exam(Combined graduate Preliminary Exam)
which is conducted by SSC board every year.

Age-21 to 27 years
5 years relaxtion for SC/ST candidate

Crime Branch is one of the branches that every State Police has their own and is usually referred as Criminal Investigation Department.In order to join this branch, you need to join the police department .

In some states, the entrance examination for recruitment of officers is conducted by the state police selection board of the particular state whereas, in other states, the entrance examination is conducted by the Public Service Commission of the state.

How to become a CBI officer -

To become a CBI officer, then you have to appear the exams conducted by UPSC. And This exams is held generally once a year for the post of Sub-Inspectors of Police in Central Bureau of Investigation and the application forms and other particulars are published in the Employment News in the month of October.

Eligiblity -

If you have completed your bacholar degree, then you are eligible for appear in this exams. But your age is between 20 to 25 years.

To join the Crime Branch first you need to become the CBI officer.

To join in CBI you need ve crack CGPE(Combine Graduation Preliminary Exam). This exam Conducted by the SSC(Staff Selection Committee).

If you want to become a Crime Branch officer then you will have to apply for CGL(Combined Graduate Level) Exam.This exam is conducted by SSC(Staff Selection Commission) each year.You will not be able to apply for this year because this exam is going to be held on 19th May 2013 from 11 AM.

Qualifications required for SSC CGL

• Nationality - Indian.
• Educational qualification :- You should have a bachelor degree from recognized university in any discipline.
• Age :- Your minimum age should be 18 years and should not be above 27 years.

Selection Process

• Preliminary Exam - Tier I(Objective type with multiple choice).
• Mains Exam - Tier II(Written type).
• Personal Interview.
