Qualification required to become a Professor?
Sir i am a student of commerce field and want to become a professor so which degrees are necessary for it ??

To become a professor first of all you have to complete post graduate degree.After completing your master degree you can appear in NET exam which conducted by CBSE every year in month of June and December. This exam held for JRF and Assistant Professor.
Notification comes in month of April and October for NET exam.To appear in NET exam you must have 55% marks in post graduation. If you want to appear for JRF then your upper age should be 28 years.If you want to appear for Assistant Professor there is no upper age limit. Those candidate who belong to reserve category they get relaxation as per government rules. There are three papers in this exam.First paper is General Aptitute,second and third paper will be based on subject which you have choose in your post graduation. All three papers will be objective type.There is no negative marking. For more details ---www.cbse.nic.in |

For professor, there are various criteria by different universities and colleges. let us discuss the most general ones trough which you will definitely get a lecturer post in some college. >> See, there are some universities, state level and private which also allow post graduate candidates who had done M.com in their desired field. So, you can pursue M.com course in the field of your interest and the field in which you think you have a better command. >> Some universities like the Delhi Universities, the candidates needs to have at least done a Phd in their respective fields. >> Also, if you are considering about teaching in the schools and institutions then your B.com course is also sufficient. many secondary school recruit B.com graduates, the only condition being they should be able to handle the students and they should have thorough knowledge of the secondary schooling pattern and subjects. |

The essential requirements for becoming a professor is as below:
1. Degree level: You must have a master's degree in any desired field of interest so as to become a professor in any college. Some college also demand Doctoral degree as requirement. 2. Field of master's degree: You can obtain master's degree in your field of interest. 3. Experience: You must have certain years of teaching experience in government, private or non profit organization in field of study. 4. Communication skills, ability to interpret the fact and figures, must be able to clear doubts of candidate along with computer skills are also essential requirements. So, first of all do your bachelor's degree then master's degree in commerce if your interest is commerce then you can become professor in government or private institutions. For becoming lecturer in government colleges, you must crack National Eligibility test conducted by UGC but it also requires master's degree in your desired discipline from a recognized university with at least 55% marks in it. |
