The GATE exam is conducted throughout the country and it is administered by the IITs and the IISc –Bangalore.It is an All India based written exam. Nowadays many PSU’s accept the GATE score for recruiting graduate engineers. One can start preparing for the GATE exam right from the prefinal year. Many coaching centers and courses are there to help candidates to secure admission to various PG courses.

Hi,

Required information regarding GATE:

GATE Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering is conducted by 7IIT's and IISC Bangalore to give admission in M.Tech.

Eligibility:
Bachelors degree holders in Engineering, Pharmacy, Architecture and Technology.
or a final or pre final year student also can attend GATE exam.
Masters Degree holder in any branch of Science, Mathematics, Statics or Computer Applications
or equivalent final year student also can apply.

one can apply through online.

for this year last date for submission of applications is 17th oct 2011.

exam will be conducted on 2nd sunday of feb.

Dear Aspirant

GATE is one of the toughest exam in India. It is not necessary for you to join coaching

to crack this exam. You can also crack this exam by self study & hard work. by Hard work and
strong determination anything becomes possible.

So do not think anyway that without coaching you can not clear GATE.

So friend before start your preparation develop confidence in yourself & try to remove your fear for GATE slowly.
Approach to your engineering books, notes & study materials. All these help you lot to recover easily.

Now start you study with full interest & Schedule your Preparation. Always concentrate on those subject from

which more no. would be asked. Find out your weak point & try to be strong there by hard work & consistency.

Remember Gate is the exam that check your Fundamental knowledge. So take care of it means clear your basic
fundamentals in all subjects that's the only way to get good score & qualify in GATE exam.

If you are in the final year then you don't have much time to prepare for GATE so you should start studying some books which have the old GATE solved papers. These books are available for each branch or stream

And if you are in pre final or 1st or 2nd year then check the syllabus of GATE first then concentrate more on those subjects which are in your GATE syllabus and in your Btech syllabus as well with Standard books. Do not try to study 3rd year subjects in your second year and so on. If any subject is left out then study it in the summer or winter breaks otherwise it will affect you Btech studies.

Keep Practicing Mathematics It is the most important part as it carries 15% of the total marks and then General Aptitude also carries 15% of the total marks.

Then the remaining 70% is constituted by the remaining subjects.
Dont try to prepare them all if you dont have much time. Focus on those subjects first which you are good at.

Then the old solved papers will give the final touch.
