The minimum selection criteria for an undergraduate course in hotel management is 10+2 with 50% marks.

However, candidates who do not have 50% marks in +2 can do diploma or certificate course in hotel management which are being offered by various institutes.

For joining a hotel management course you need have completed your 10th stardard with a minimum of 40%.But remember you can only get a diploma course after 10th .For getting a bachelors degree you need to complete your 12th standard(HSC) with 50%marks.
The diploma course is of 6 months to an year and a half, whereas the degree couse varies from 3-4 years depending on the colleges providing the degree.
