General Awarenes is a very vast topic & it nearly covers everything, the good part is it is interesting to study general awareness,

First of all you should start reading newspapers daily thoroughly & not on selective basis.
The Hindu is a good paper

Read Manorama Yearbook of this year as well as of previous year

& try to connect things , this will help you in remembering things .

& prepare a quiz section on general awareness among friends & participate in it.
