If you are interested to Become a IAS officer, first you can crack the Civil Examination which is conducted by Union Public Service Commission in yearly ones, for this examination some eligibility criteria are there i.e. Educational Qualification, Age Limit, Nationality, Physical Standard etc,,,,, if you are satisfy these all eligibility criteria then you are eligible for Civil Examination, I can give you more information about Civil Examination below,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,, Civil Examination conducted by Union Public Service Commission in yearly ones, For this Civil Examination some eligibility are there if you satisfy these all eligibility then you are eligible for civil examination Eligibility Criteria for Civil Examination Educational Qualification Candidates have a bachelor of degree in any stream from any recognized university, Final year students also eligible for this examination There is no percentage required for this examination Age Limit Candidates age should between 21 years to 30 years for general candidates 5 years relaxation for SC/ST candidates 3 years relaxation for OBC candidates Nationality Candidates should be a citizen of India Selection Procedure Preliminary Examination Mains Examination Interview Test No.of Attempts Maximum 7 attempts for general candidates Maximum 4 attempts for OBC Candidates There is no restriction for SC/ST candidates Optional Subjects for IAS Agriculture Physics Chemistry Biology Zoology Law management Commerce Economics Electrical Engineering Mechanical Engineering Civil Engineering Sociology Geology Mathematics Statistics |

Bachelor degree holders in any subject can try for IAS. For this you must clear UPSC conducted prelims and mains exam and interview. Candidates have the option to select one language and optional subject in mains exam. This can be selected from the list of subjects given in UPSC site. You can either select the subject studied at graduation or one which you find comfortable to study.

Their are many subjects available here for selection but you should select the subject in which u r intrested..it is completely your chice...

List of optional subjects:- Agriculture, Animal husbandry and Veterinary science, Anthropology, Botany, Chemistry, Civil engineering, Commerce, Economics, Electrical engineering, Geography, Geology, History, Law, Management, Mathematics, Mechanical engineering, Medical science, Philosophy, Physics, Political science, Psychology, Public administration, Sociology, Statistics, Zoology. Eligibility Criteria: Nationality: You must be Indian. Educational Qualification: You should complete the Graduation in Engineering from recognized University. No percentage required for this exam. Final year pursuing candidates are also eligible for this exam. Age criteria:- For General candidates: 21 years to 30 years, For OBC category candidates: 21 years to 33 years, For SC/ST category candidates: 21 years to 35 years. you can choose subjects as per your choice because the eligibility for an IAS officer is minimum graduate with any subjects with certain eligibility conditions..
for becoming an IAS officer you have to crack the CIVIL SERVICES EXAM conducted by UPSC... I M giving you few details about eligibility for an ias... ELIGIBILITY FOR IAS EXAM( CIVIL SERVICES) 1. AGE CRITERIA -INDIAN NATIONS who have attained the age of 21 yr, and not have attend the maximum age. MAXIMUM AGE -FOR GENERAL CATEGORY 30 YEARS - SC/ ST-35 - OB CS - 33 YEARS 2.EDUCATION CRITERIA The candidate must hold any degree in any discipline from any recongnized university. Indian Administrative Service. IAS exam conducted by the UPSC(Union Public Service Commission) once in a year. Eligibility details:- The candidate should be complete graduation in any stream from a recognized university. No need of percentage requirements to apply this exam. Candidate should be a citizen of India. Final year appearing students may also eligible. Age criteria:- Minimum age limit--> 21 years, Maximum age limit--> 30 years. Relaxation: 3 years for OBC candidates, 5 years for SC/ST candidates, 10 years for PWD candidates. Selection process:- Preliminary exam, Mains exam, Personal interview. Number of attempts:- 4 times chance for General category, 7 times chance for OBC category, No limit for SC/ST category. sir does doing B.A wid geography and indian history or public administration be helful for civil services in place of having an engineering degree??? i am doin AMIE n have just started...but i want to be in cicil services....should i continue with AMIE or opt something like B.A which will help in my preparation in civil srvices???/ plz suggest
