I appreciate for that. As you are electrical engineering student all you need to do is to complete your graduation without any backlogs and after clearing simultaneously you will also get the required age.i..e, 21 years of age. after getting this criteria you will be able to appear in this examination. via a notification of UPSC(Which is a governing body). As you are from electrical background in the time of optional selection you will definitely select Electrical engineering. Its common. and for getting good marks in Electrical engineering you should have complete knowledge in your core subject. along with this you don't have an option to select any other engineerng subject because of the rule. that only one engineering subject should be selected by the candidate. apart from engineering subjects you can select any other subjects of the optional subject list. this is how you have to select the optional for your mains as you know for CSAT syllabus is same for all the background students. so I think there is no confusion about CSAT Syllabus. All the best for your preparation. Regards ~AdityA~ |

Re: Which Optional Subjects should I choose for IAS Exam?
Dear pal,
The selection procedure for the indian administrative service includes common aptitude exam followed by main exam. The aptitude exam is common for all the appearing aspirants in the exam. The main exam includes nine papers of which four are compulsory and the aspirant can choose the remaining five papers . The optional papers are botany, zoology, chemistry , physics, economics, statistics, commerce, geography, history, agriculture, animal husbandry, sociology, political science civil engineering, mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, etc the aspirant can choose only one engineering papers not more than that. Time gap will be provided between two exams and you can prepare on that time but you need to prepare for it before itself so that you have some ideas about it. Better do a three year course in discipline mentioned about so that preparation gets reduced and you can concentrate on other papers |
