Which two subjects are best suited for IAS preparations for an electrical engineering student?
i m an electrical and electronics engineer.now i want to go for IAS studies. My querry is about subjects.I m a bit confused that what 2 subjects should i choose.Should i choose the subjects of electrical engineering what i studied in my graduation or should i take the subjects of ARTS

OPTIONAL SUBJECT FOR IAS EXAM:- You are from electrical background so you can choose one subject for Electrical engineering and other subject from any Arts stream. IAS exam 2012 syllabus:
IAS exam consists of preliminary & main exams Preliminary exam consists of objective type questions main exam consists of written exam Preliminary exam Syllabus: it consists of two papers no of questions 200 duration 2hrs paper I: current affairs indian political system general science history of india paper II: logical reasoning abalytical ability decision making & problem solving general mental ability numerical ability english language Main exam syllabus : it consists of 200 marks general science paper 600marks 3hrs each paper Eligibility: educational qualification : candidates must be graduate in any stream under university citizen of Indian age limit : 21 to 30 years for general candidates 21 to 33 years for obc candidates 21 to 35 years for sc/st candidates |

Unlike the engineering
streams like Mechanical, Civil or electrical, Computer science is not an optional subject. Hence, the best optional choice would be Sociology and Public Admin, reason being, sociology is easy to connect with, as it talks about us and Public Admin is all about your job once you are selected and hence useful. |

i am completed BE in electrical and electronics stream..plz suggest in IAS mains i am taking optional subjects as 1.Electrical and 2.Kannada......plz suggest wether my options is correct or not.....
