Common Proficiency Test (CPT) is an entry Stage test for Chartered Accountancy Course.
Education eligibility:-- minimum 12 th pass or even graduates are too allowed.. CPT exam conducts twice a year..in the month of 1st JUNE 1st OCTOBER and notification come before 2 months ..(There are rarely chances of change in dates.) Common Proficiency Test (CPT) is an entry Stage test for Chartered Accountancy Course. Examination in paper pencil mode will be conducted on :19th June, 2011 but this only for those one who already registered with the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India on or before 1st April, 2011... But still you can apply for next exam.. Cost of examination application Form for examination centre in India - Rs. 100. one can apply online at click here from 4th April, 2011 to 25th April, 2011... THE exam pattern consists of 4 hours of two papers and each of 2 hours.. Syllabus session I Section A consists of Fundamental of Accounting of 60 marks Section B consists of Mercentalie Law of 40 marks. session II Section A consists of General Economics of 50 marks Section B consists of Quantitative of 50 marks. you need to get at least 55% in overall session and 30% in each subject......to crack cpt.. |

To apply for the CPT examination
a candidate should be 10+2 pass. The CPT examination is condcuted twice in a year. The CPT examination is based on the following pattern The examination is divided in two sections session I Section A It consists of Fundamental of Accounting and is of 60 marks Section B It consists of Mercentalie Law and is of 40 marks. session II Section A It consists of General Economics and is of 50 marks Section B It consists of Quantitative part and is of 50 marks. The candidate has to score atleast 50% marks in over all to crack the exmination. GOOD LUCK |

dear friend, It is an entry level test for Chartered Accountancy Course. It is a test of four subjects i.e. Accounting, Mercantile Laws, General Economics and Quantitative Aptitude. This test is of 200 marks. This test is divided into two sessions of two hours each A Simplified Entry to the Chartered Accountancy Course CPT will replace existing Professional Education (Course-I) which requires 10-month study period followed by an exhaustive theoretical examination. CPT is an objective type test to be held every February, May, August and November. This will reduce long waiting for entry to the chartered accountancy education and training. Common Proficiency Test will be an objective type multiple choice based examination. Candidates will be allowed to opt for Hindi medium Question Paper Booklet for answering the questions. Accounting for Special Transactions Consignments Joint Ventures Bills of exchange and promissory notes Sale of goods on approval or return basis. 8. Partnership Accounts Final accounts of partnership firms Basic concepts of admission, retirement and death of a partner including treatment of good will. 9. Introduction to Company Accounts Issue of shares and debentures, forfeiture of shares, re-issue of forfeited shares, redemption of preference shares. Section B: Mercantile Law ( 40 Marks ) Objective: To test the general comprehension of elements of mercantile law Contents The Indian Contract Act , 1872: An overview of Sections 1 to 75 covering the general nature of contract , consideration , other essential elements of a valid contract , performance of contract and breach of contract. The Sale of Goods Act, 1930: Formation of the contract of sale Conditions and Warranties-Transfer of ownership and delivery of goods Unpaid seller and his rights. The India Partnership Act, 1932: General Nature of Partnership Rights and duties of partners-Registration and dissolution of a firm. SESSION- II (Two Sections- Two hours 100 Marks) Section C: General Economics ( 50 Marks ) Objective: To ensure basic understanding of economic systems, economic behaviour of individuals and organizations. Introduction to Micro Economics Definition, scope and nature of Economics Methods of economic study Central problems of an economy and Production possibilities curve. 2.
