Re: New Syllabus for UPSC Mains Exam? Any change in syllabus?
there is no real change in format but inside sources have confirmed that the exam will henceforth lean more towards testing the candidates logical aptitude rather than just rote learning of a lot of facts.. so be sure to spruce up your all-round awareness and logic .. you may want to look up the papers for american civil service...they have papers more of this kind. hope it helps

Re: New Syllabus for UPSC Mains Exam? Any change in syllabus?
hey frnds, the national newspaper " the hindu " announced that the pattern of ias mains for the yr 2012 is going to be changed. u can see the information in website of the hindu newspaper of 28th september . it says that , the optional subject were removed from the mains and new subjects were introduced which are part of general studies. so according to me evry one should prepare for the gs right now and wait till the official news about the change is declared.it is better not to join any coaching centre right now because they wouldn't teach u the changed syllabus.... so wait and watch ......
