There will be two parts to this exam. First you will need to attempt questions in mathematics and then a general ability test. In the maths section questions in areas like trigonometry, vector algebra, matrices, probability etc will be asked. There will be two sections in the general ability test. The first section will be in English and the other will cover areas like Physics, Chemistry, Geography, History, General Science etc. You will get the syllabus in the notification.

national defense academy examwill be held on 15 APRIL 2012, as notified by UPSC. The last date of receipt of Applications online is 30 JANUARY 2012. Candidates are required to apply online only. No other mode is allowed for submission of application. NDA Exam 2012 Syllabus The subjects for the NDA Entrance Exam 2012 will be as follows: Subject Duration Maximum Marks Mathematics 2 Hours 300 General Ability 2 Hours 600 There is Negative Marking. For each question for which a wrong answer has been given, one third (0.33) of the marks assigned to that question will be deducted as penalty. NDA & NA Exam 2012 Mathematics Syllabus Maximum Marks 300 Algebra Concept of a set, operations on sets, Venn diagrams. De Morgan laws. Cartesian product, relation, equivalence relation. Representation of real numbers on a line. Complex numbers - basic properties, modulus, argument, cube roots of unity. Binary system of numbers. Conversion of a number in decimal system to binary system and vice-versa. Arithmetic, Geometric and Harmonic progressions. Quadratic equations with real coefficients. Solution of linear inequations of two variables by graphs. Permutation and Combination. Binomial theorem and its application. Logarithms and their applications. Matrices and Determinants Types of matrices, operations on matrices Determinant of a matrix, basic properties of determinant. Adjoint and inverse of a square matrix, Applications - Solution of a system of linear equations in two or three unknowns by Cramer's rule and by Matrix Method. Trigonometry Angles and their measures in degrees and in radians. Trigonometrical ratios. Trigonometric identities Sum and difference formulae. Multiple and Sub-multiple angles. Inverse trigonometric functions. Applications - Height and distance, properties of triangles. Analytical Geometry of two and three dimensions Rectangular Cartesian Coordinate system. Distance formula. Equation of a line in various forms. Angle between two lines. Distance of a point from a line. Equation of a circle in standard and in general form. Standard forms of parabola, ellipse and hyperbola. Eccentricity and axis of a conic. Point in a three dimensional space, distance between two points. Direction Cosines and direction ratios. Equation of a plane and a line in various forms. Angle between two lines and angle between two planes. Equation of a sphere. Differential Calculus Concept of a real valued function - domain, range and graph of a function. Composite functions, one to one, onto and inverse functions. Notion of limit, Standard limits - examples. Continuity of functions - examples, algebraic operations on continuous functions. Derivative of a function at a point, geometrical and physical interpreatation of a derivative - applications. Motion of objects, Velocity and Acceleration, Newton's Laws of Motion, Force and Momentum, Parallelogram of Forces, Stability and Equilibrium of bodies, Gravitation, elementary ideas of work, Power and Energy. Effects of Heat, Measurement of temperature and heat, change of State and Latent Heat, Modes of transference of Heat. Sound waves and their properties, Simple musical instruments. Rectilinear propagation of Light, Reflection and refraction. Spherical mirrors and Lenses. Human Eye. Natural and Artificial Magnets, Properties of a Magnet, Earth as a Magnet. NDA examination is conducted for recruitment of Army wings,Navy wings and Air force courses and this examination is conducted twice in a year by Union Public Service Commission.This examination will be conducted by UPSC on 15th April 2012.
To apply for Air force and Navy wings :- The student must have studied Physics a& Mathematics in their examination. To apply for Army wings :- Physics & Mathematics in 12th examination is not must. Syllabus of examination :- Mathematics and General ability The subjects for the NDA Entrance Exam 2012 will be as follows: Subject Code Duration Maximum Marks Mathematics 01 2 Hours 300 General Ability Test 02 2 Hours 600 There is Negative Marking. For each question for which a wrong answer has been given, one third (0.33) of the marks assigned to that question will be deducted as penalty. Eligibility : complete your 12th stands age between 16.5 to 19 years present 12th stands students also apply this exam Selection process: written test interview physical test Written exam consist of two papers Paper I : carries 300 marks & Duration :21/2 hrs it consists of Maths Paper II: carries 600 marks & Duration :21/2 hrs it consists of English & General ability Thanks.. |
