Hello,

I have recently completed Law from Pune and would like to appear for UPSC next year i.e 2011.

For that I would like to join some good coaching class.I heard a lot about coaching classes in Delhi.

I would like to know whether it is really beneficial to go to Delhi for coaching ? If yes then can anyone guide me for best institution ?

I have completed law so I was thinking of taking Law as option. But i heard that it is very tough to pass or score by opting Law. So now I am thinking of Geography as my option. But i am quite new to Geography so very little idea about it.

Mostly my second option will be public administration.

Can anyone guide me for selecting options ? which is better Geography or Law ?

This kind of confusion comes to everybody aspiring for civil services.
As you are a Law graduate so there is nothing wrong in taking Law as an option for MAINS.
You should take it because you have good subject knowledge.
No subject is tough. I know some IAS officers with who took MATHs and PHYSICS for their mains. Maths and Physics are assumed to be the toughest paper and also they are. But the IASs I dicussed about, were IIT graduates so they were very good at Maths and Physics.
It means if you have good subject knowledge of LAW then there is no meaning of taking geography instead of LAW.
Some people recommend geography just because a major part of the general studies paper contains question from geography. This is fact. You can easily prepare geography for the part but it will make pressure on you if you select it for mains. Also it is a general mentality that one feels confident only with one's stream and that confidence can never be for some other subject.
Therefore I would suggest you to choose LAW.

dear friend, subject does not matter for preparing of UPSC exams.
its just depends upon your choice, so don't feel nervous about your subject. you have to well prepare for your subject, as you want to appear in UPSC exams.

See my friend you have already passed Law from Pune then i think its bad idea to change your path in my opinion you should go for Law and it depends upon you if you will labour hard as you did upto today then you are definitely going to pass so dont worry go for Law now its upto you.
