PCS Stands Punjab Civil Services

PCS exam is a combined competitive examination held by the Punjab Public Service Commission

Eligibility :

Candidates must be Indian

Candidates must be complete Graduation from a recognized University

Candidates age limit between 21 to 28 years

The upper age relaxation as per govt rules

3 years for OBC candidates

5 years for SC/ST candidates

10 years for Disabled persons

Selection Process :

Preliminary Examination

Main Examination

Paper I : English , 100 marks

Paper II : Essay (English/Punjab) , 100 marks

Paper III : Punjabi (Gurmukhi Script) , 100 marks

Paper IV - V : General Studies (2 papers) , 200 marks

Paper VI - VII : Optimal subjects I (2 papers) , 200 marks

Paper VIII - IX : Optimal subjects II (2 papers) , 200 marks

Interview : 100 marks

PCS known as the Punjab Civil Services conducted by the Punjab Public Service Commission.

The Eligibility for the PCS is as,

Educational-> The candidate must be Bachelor degree holder in any discipline from a recognized university.
The candidate should have passed the Punjabi subject in the 10th standard.

Age Limit-> The minimum age should not be less than 21 years of age.
The maximum age should not be more than 37 years of age.
Relaxation in the upper age of 5 years is applicable for the SC/ST & Backward(Punjab candidates only) category of candidates.


Pattern-:

Preliminary-> It consists of Objective type of questions from
General Studies
CSAT(Civil Services Aptitude Test).


Mains-> IT consists of Essay type of written examination.


Interview-> It is the final stage,the candidates selected in the Mains examination are called for the Interview.

It is similar to IAS exam, but it is a state level exam.

Eligibility criteria for PCS exam ~~

Candidate should be an Indian citizen.

Candidate should have bachelor’s degree in any stream from a recognised university.

Candidate’s age should be between 21 years to 35 years,

Candidate must have taken Punjabi as one of the compulsory or elective language in Matriculation exam.

Number of attempts ~~

For general – 4 times
For OBC – 7 times
For SC/ ST – No limit
