I am a b.tech cse student and i m currently in my 6th semester,I want to know that which govt organizations are having jobs for cse students and also which exams do i have to appear in order to clear them .... please do tell me what are the requirements of those exams.I do have heard that some govt companies like SAIL etc are employing cse students.Please reply soon

You have heard absolutely right. Some Public Sector Undertakings, which you referred as the government companies, hire Computer Science Engineers. These companies are the only option for the Computer Science Engineers in the government sector.

The Public Sector Undertakings are the companies that are controlled by the government of India. You can apply for the job in these companies if meet the minimum criteria. Please remember that you will have to appear for the entrance exam to apply for the job.

The selection process is written test followed by the interview. However some companies don't conduct the written test and instead ask for the GATE score from the candidate. Therefore before you apply for the job, please also appear for the GATE entrance exam, even if you don't have any intention of pursuing M.Tech.

There is no common entrance exam. Each PSU will separately issue the notification. You will have to check the notification and see if there are any vacancies for the Computer Science Engineers in it. Only then you should apply.


Eligibility

1. You should be citizen of India.

2. B.Tech/B.E. degree from a recognized college.

3. At least 60 percent marks in engineering.

4. A valid GATE score may also be required.

5. You should clear all pending backlogs before applying.

6. The age limit is 21 to 30 years.
