What can I do to get into Robotics having passed Diploma in Electronics & Telecommunication and pursuing 2nd year of BE in Electronics & Telecommunication?

i have passed out diploma in elec &telecom, and i am in BE 2nd year in elect & telecommunication. But i m intrested in robotics so what i can do somthing extra with engg.........

my friend sir had told me that there is no scope for electronics n telecommunication engg in future. i think so it is wrong n i m still in 2nd year in diploma of E.X.T.C so i want to give them sir their right answer thats why friend n sir plz help me out of this?????
