To become a Software Engineer you will have to do BCA then MCA but, B.Tech CSE student can also be Software Engineer. NIIT offers Software Engineering Course. You may do BCA or Graduation in any stream but, you will have to do MCA to become a Software Engineer after BCA or Graduation in any stream. To take admission in MCA you will have to do Bachelor degree with 50% marks in aggregate or equivalent grade and Mathematics at 12th level. After doing MCA you cam be Software Engineer, System Analytic, Programmer etc.
