CAT Exam Details:-

CAT stands for Common Admission Test. Indian Institutes of Management conducts this exam and by giving this exam you can get to pursue MBA not only in the IIM's but also in the other top B-Schools which accepts CAT Scores.

During the month of October and November the exam is conducted completely online during a window of 3-4 weeks. This year the exam will take place between Oct 16 - Nov 11, 2013. The sale of vouchers will be from Jul 29 - Sep 24, 2013.

CAT exam is fully conducted online. How much importance will be given to CAT scores varies from one institute to the other. Other parameters which are also considered are as follows: cademic performance, work experience, group discussion, written assessment and interview performance etc.

To be considered eligible to give this exam you have to have a graduate degree in any discipline of your choice from a recognized university. Along with that 50% of marks is also required if you are a general category candidate.

For the reserved category candidate there is 5% relaxation. If you are in the final year then also you are eligible to give this exam. There is no age limit to appear for this exam and you can give this exam for as many times as you want.

The selection procedure basically depends on the following stages or rounds: Written Examination, Group Discussion and Interview Session. In the written exam there will be two sections, mainly, Quantitative Ability & Data Interpretation and Verbal Ability & Logical Reasoning.

From each of the section mentioned above 30 questions will be asked and you will get only 70 mins to complete each section. There is negative marking too and you will get 15 mins to read the paper before exam starts. There will be an on-screen timer to calculate the time.
