The recruitment of IAS officer is done through Civil Service Examination which is conducted by the Union Public Service Commission. The same exam is also conducted to recruit IPS and IFS officer. There are two stages of Civil Service Exam, one of them is conducted in May/June and Second is October/November in the same year.
IAS is a very reputed government job. Indian Administrative Service is important part of Bureaucracy in India as such officers are responsible for carrying out various task on the behalf of state government. IAS officer help state government frame policy for the district he is incharge. He would recommend certain points that state government should include in the policy. It also include discharging water from the dams for agriculture purpose. Apart from framing policy, it is also the responsibility of IAS officer to ensure that policy is being implemented smoothly in the district. IAS officer regularly travel to areas where policy is being implemented and check the work status. Later he sends the feedback to the government. It is also the responsibility of IAS officer to ensure that public funds which is given for welfare schemes etc. is being utilized properly. Any irregularity would make IAS officer subject of investigation. Lastly the job of IAS officer is to manage states in nautral disaster like situation such as typhoon, epademic, floods, drought etc. In the situation of disaster or violence, IAS officer becomes the eyes and ears of the government and provide latest update. Eligibility To become IAS officer, you should be Indian citizen. You must possess graduation degree in any stream from recognised university. Age Limit The age limit for General candidates is 21 to 30 years. For OBC - 21 to 33 years. SC/ST - 21 to 35 years. Attempts General - 4 OBC - 7 SC/ST - No Limit Exam Pattern/Dates Civil Service Exam is conducted in two stages. 1) Preliminary Exam Date of notification: 04-02-2012 Last Date for Receipt of Applications: 05-03-2012 Date of Exam: 20-05-2012 2) Main Exam Date of Commencement of Exam: 05-10-2012 |

hello dear,
if you want to become IAS officer then you have to crack the civil services exam which is being held by UPSC level.for become IAS you have to complete the graduation degree and your age should be under 30 year for obc 3 year and for sc/st 5 year extended i.e (kota) the Civil Service Exam held twice in year first in month of May/June and Second is month of October/November in the same year. good luck |

Administrative services conducted every year by UPSC.
If you want join IAS (Indian Administrative services) so,you have to Graduate . and Indian citizen also. IAS Stands for Indian Administrative Services and to become IAS Officer you have to cracked the UPSC Civil services examination. This examination is Conducted by UPSC, Every year and the Notification of this examination will be Published in the employment Newspaper or in the UPSC Website in the month of February. To apply for this examination you have to fulfill the given Eligibility Criteria : >> You have to complete your Graduate degree course in any discipline from a recognized University. >> Final year appearing candidates are also apply for this examination >> Your age should between 21 to 30 years, Upper age relaxation is applicable for SC/ST/OBC Candidates. IAS exam eligibility :- Age limit for IAS:-- *A candidate must have attained 21 years and not be over 30 years on August 1 of the year of examination. *The upper age limit is relaxed in specific cases as mentioned below: >> upto a maximum of 5 years if the candidate belongs to SC/ST. >> upto a maximum of 3 years if the candidate belongs to Other Backward Classes.
