What to do to join Indian Army if I am 19 years old
Sir,
iwant to ask that if i m m issed the nda enterance exam so after tht what should i do ? |

NDA-National Defence Academy. NDA exam is conducted twice in a year by the UPSC(Union Public Service Commission). NDA has three wings:- -->Indian navy, -->Indian airforce, -->Indian Army. Eligibility criteria:- Candidate should be complete 12th standard or any equivalent from a recognised board of india. Candidate must be physically fit. Percentage is not important to appear this exam. Only male and unmarried candidates are eligible. The minimum age limit is 16 1/2 years, the maximum age limit is 19 years. For indian navy and airforce you must be complete 12th standard with PCM subjects but no need for Army. Candidate should be a citizen of india OR A subject of bhutan, OR A subject of nepal, Or A tibetian refugee who came over india permanently. Selection process:- Written examination, SSB interview, Medical test. Physical standards:- The minimum height requirements is 157.5 cms(162.5 cms is for Indian Airforce.) If you have missed the NDA exams and want to Join Indian army, than you should give the CDS exams.
This exam like NDA is conducted by UPSC. It is held two times in a year To apply for the Indian Military Academy wing under the CDS exams, you need: Graduation Pass in any stream Age : Between 19 years to 24 years Only MALE Candidates can apply So, Complete your graduation and than apply for the CDS exams |

Since you are 19 years old you must not eligible to appear for the NDA exams. If you wish to join the Indian army at the age of 19 years ,there are two options for you whose description is as below: 1.Combined defense services. Since you have attained 19 years of age, you are definitely not eligible for NDA exam now, but now you can apply for CDS exam if you want to join Indian Army. UPSC conducts CDS exam for the candidates who wish to join - Indian army, Indian navy Indian Air Force Eligibility criteria for CDS- Graduation from a recognised university. Age -- For IMA - 19 years - 24 years For Naval academy- 19years - 22years For Officer's Training Academy - 19-25 years For Air force academy - 19 years - 23 years. So, you ca start preparing for CDS exam and apply to it. |

![]() ![]() NDA is National Defence Academy and UPSC conducts examination for recruitment of cadets for NDA. You must have 10+2 certificate if you want to apply for NDA examination. Age should be between 16.5 to 19 years and you must be unmarried male of India. The selection is purely based on the performance in the Written examination, SSB and Medical Examination. Must have sound physical and mental health for joining NDA. If you have completed 10+2 with physics and mathematics and have above 70 % marks then you can apply for TES (Technical Entry Scheme). dear friend,
as you said you are 19 and if you have passed 12th you can apply for NDA in month of march as the eligibility criteria for NDA is you must be 12th pass and your age shall be 16 year 6 month to 19 year 6 month if you have passed your 12th with pcm and have scored more than 70% in pcm than you can even apply for TES as eligibility criteria for this is 12th pass with 70% in pcm and your age shall be 16 year 6 month to 19 year 6 month.. You can even apply for CDS after your graduation .eligibility for CDS is you must be graduate in any dicipline and your age shall be 21 year to 30 years. Good luck |

Hello friend you can appear for NDA exam for one more time or go b.sc or b.tech
1. As you know there is no entrance exam conducted for b.sc and no restriction about marks and age so you can join After this also you can join defence 2. B.tech is a technical course, a entrance exam is conducted and age limit is 17-25 years, minimum marks required is 60% After this also you can join defence through CDS exam all the best........ |

As you mentioned that you are 19 years old you can apply for NDA Exam. The exam is conducted by UPSC and there is lots of competition for the examination. If you are interested you can apply either online or offline and later on can prepare well for the examination.
