good day
i will like to join indian army
but the thing is i only study in india 9th class pass
then i left india right now im in south africa i study here
my age is 22yr
really need to do something for india
i dont know is it possibel for me to join indian army
plz someone can answer this Q

As you mentioned in the Notification that, you are only completed your 9th class. So it is not possible for you to join Indian Army. If you have not completed your Graduation at the age of 22 years, then you can not Join Indian Army.

Because once can Join Indian Army only after completing 12Th examination or after completing Graduation.

Those who have completed his 12Th examination are eligible to appeared for NDA Examination. To apply for NDA Examination, your age should between 16.5 to 19 years.

Those who have completed his graduation are eligible for CDS Examination to Join Indian Army. To Join Army through CDS Examination, your age should between 19 to 24 years, No upper age relaxation is applicable for any candidates.

If you satisfied any one of the criteria, only then you are eligible for Indian Army, Otherwise you cant Join Army.

Yes, if you are an Indian citizen or ward of those coming from Pakistan before partition. You can join as wash boy, cook or gardener but not as an Officer as the recruitment is after 12th pass for NDA.

YES you can join in INDIAN ARMY but there are some Entrance exams to join DEFENCE SERVICES.

* AFCAT EXAM
* TES EXAM
* UES EXAM
* CDS EXAM


Combined Defence Service Exam : -

This exam will conducts TWO times in every year
This exam will conducts by UPSC

UPSC - Unin Public Service Commission



The eligliblity criteria of this exam is ,

~ The candidate should have completed GRADUATION from a recognised university
~ The candidate's age should be between 19-22 years , for NAVY
~ The candidate's age should be between 19-23 years , for AIRFORCE
~ The candidate's age should be between 19-24 years , for ARMY
~ The candidate must be a citizen of india


The Selection procedure is , The Exam syllabus is ,

~ Written exam ~ General knowledge - 100 marks
~ Personnel interview ~ General english - 100 marks
~ Medical test ~ Elementary maths - 100 marks

The minimum eligibility criteria to join NDA is you need to be a 12 pass out and that your age should be somewhere between 16.5 and 19 years. Unfortunately your age is 22 years. So its not possible for you to give the NDA entrance exam.
The CDS exam though can be given by you for the following posts:-
>For Indian Military Academy/Officers' Training Academy: Degree from a recognized university or equivalent
>For Naval Academy: B.Sc. with Physics & Mathematics or Bachelor of Engineering
>For Air Force Academy: Degree of a Recognized University with Physics and Mathematics at 10+2 level or Bachelor of Engineering.

No you are not eligible for india army, because you are just completed 9th class.

To join in Indian army there is two ways NDA(National Defence Service) or CDS(Combined Defence Service) exams.

You are crossed the age limit for NDA because the age limits for NDA is 16.5 years and for CDS age limits is 19 years to 23 years, so cs per the age restriction you are eligible but for this graduation is the minimum qualification so you are not eligible.



CDS exam is conducted by the UPSC(Union Public Service Commission) twe times in a year.

CDS-I,

CDS-II.


Eligibility criteria;

The candidate should be complete graduation or equivalent degree in any stream from a recognised university.

You must be physically fit.

You should be a citizen of india.

Male and female both are eligible for this exam.

It is not possible to join Indian army as you have completed only 9th standard....

To join Indian army you should complete at least 12th or any degree...

Its really unfortunate that you left India just after passing the 9th class. Sorry to say but you cannot join the Indian Army just after passing the 9th std.

this is because candidates who want to join the Indian Dee=fense can do the same at tkeir earliest only through the NDA Exam.

The NDA Examination is conducted every year two times by the Union Public Service Commission.

The NDA-I Exam is conducted in the month of April whereas the NDA-II Exam is conducted in the month of August every year.

There are a number of reasons for which you are ineligible for the NDA Exam. These reasons are :

* The minimum educational qualification required for NDA Exam is 12th with PCM from anyn recognized board. And unfortunately you are just 9th pass.

* The age limit for NDA Exam is 16.5-19 years but you are 22 years old now.

* Since you have taken citizenship of South Africa now so it will be difficult for you to be eligible as only Indian Citizens are considered eligible.

The NDA Exam Selection Procedure :

1) Written Test

2) SSB Interview

3) Medical Test.

The candidates have to pass all the three stages mentioned above in order to join any of the following wings of Indian Defense :

** Indian Navy

** Indian Army

** Indian Air Force
