What does AICTE mean -

The All India Council for Technical Education AICTE, is the statutory body and a National level council for technical education, under Department of Higher Education, Ministry of Human Resource Development, it was setup in 1945 And AICTE is responsible for proper planning and co-ordinated development of the technical education and management education system in India.

It covers programmes of technical education including training and research in Engineering, Technology, Architecture, Town Planning, Management, Pharmacy, Applied Arts and Crafts, Hotel Management and Catering Technology etc. at different levels.

And it is set up to Monitor all the aspects of technical education in India.

AICTE is completely out dated and has no relevance today. It was formed on the assumption that college owner may cheat and do illegal activities hence we needed a police type organization. On the other hand lot of irregularities happened because of AICTE. As privatization in other industries has freed companies from Government control, same thing is needed in education. What they need to do is to educate students and parents on how to select a suitable institute, what questions to ask etc. This will automatically close inefficient colleges and encourage good ones. It will also encourage professionals to enter the industry which is currently dominated by politicians and corrupt businessmen.

all india council for technical education(AICTE) is a mark on a college which determines whether a college is good and genuine or not..UGC recognized is also fine..

u can compare AICTE and UGC recognized colleges like..agmark and ISI mark goods which u use in ur daily routine..
i mean they are reliable..
