what does gap in academics mean?
Does it mean
1) between courses i.e btw 10th 12th or degree 2)or completing engg in 5 or 6 years

academics year gap means gap between 12 th and graduation
this is very effective in now days because most of company could not allow more than 1year gap...

if you have then you could not sit in any interview of campus ....

but you can apply through then OFF CAMPUS OR WALK IN INTERVIEW....

Its not effect in your campus interview because they are allowed 1 year gap in your carrier so you can apply any company.in the sense of govt job it is not a factor....

it means that the number of years if you were detained in any standard right from 1st standard.

After passing 12th class most of the student can’t take the admission in college/university and they take admission after passing one year of his/her 12th class, then this one year time period is known as academic gap. There can be some reason of this academic gap some top reason are here-
• Some student prepares for the various entrance exam for there higher education in the engineering and medical
• Some family problems they are not able to take admission
• Due to some diseases/fitness problem they are not able to get admission
• Not getting the right career guidelines
• Failing in the first year of there exams

More then one year gap students are not allowed to seat in any company campus placement. They have to try individual in any organisation to get the job. So it will be better to not take any gap ore then one year for your better career.

IF 10TH AND 12TH GAP IS 3 YEARS THAN WHAT HAPPEN

I HAVE A GAP OF 2 YEARS BETWEEN 10TH AND 12TH.SO I NEED TO KNOW WHETHER I AM ELIGIBILE FOR CAMPUS PLACEMENTS IN SOFTWARE COMPANIES?

i got 81 % in 10th and 52 in 12th .. then i hav done B.E. from mumbai university and passed with 70% in final year in 2009 . after my B.E. i hav gap of 2 years . i am facing lots of problems for hunting job.. plz. help me out

i got 85% in 10th ,61% in intermediate,62% in degree.after degree i have a gap of one year because of one backlog on degree.
now im studying pg final year with 72% .can i able to try campus placements of mnc's like infosys,tcs.if im ok .which type of questions they asked me? and how will i was answer the questions ? please send me any suggestions for me...

academic gap means anything that is taking more than usual time..
like
1) time gap of more than 2 years between ur 10th and 12th passing years..
2)gap of even 1 year in between ur start of engineering and ur passing of 12th
or
3) non-completion of ur engineering within 4 years..

in all such cases..ur time is exceeding from the usual time expected so this is called a gap of academics..

i have passed 10 in 2001 n secured 65.33
then i hv passed 11 in 2002 n secured 69
then i hv a gap of two years i.e 2003 & 2004 due to sickness
then i appeared in 12 & secured 64
then i hv prepared for medical entrance exam during 2005-2006 & get selected in KBMC , gulberga , kernataka .
But due to sickness i quit from that clg as it was too far frm bikaner and there was no one der to tk care .
So i took addmission in Engineering college bikaner during session 2006-2009 & completed BCA with 75% frm university of rajasthan.
During graduation a hv secured I rank in university of rajasthan in part III
after completion of graduation i appeared in RMCAAT & get addmitted in ECB for MCA 2009-2012 . Till the date i am at first rank in my batch and had secured I rank in rajasthan technical university in MCA II sem & my aggregate score in PG is 83% .

I hv academics gap of non continous three years & TCS is visiting at campus . A i eligible for TCS or not ?

Plz plz do reply soon as i m quite frustrated and tensed.... Thnx in advance for your kind reply

It may be year between

10th to 11th or

11th to 12th or

10th to 12th or

12th to graduation degree 1st year.

At first I will say,be positive ,keep confidence in yourself,knowledge is the main issue for anyone's carrier. so if you have proper knowledge ,have the basic concepts in your base subjects ,you will get the result in future.

Information about Study Gap

A study gap is any uncalled for..time gap in between your courses..

You can see it in this way as..if any course is not completed in the specified time period then it is called a study gap..

like the specified and the usual time period allotted for Engineering is 4 years but if you take more than 4 years then you are creating a study gap..

If the gap between your year of passing of 10th and year of passing 12th is more than 2 years then you have a study gap..

If you are dropping a year or two after your 12th for preparations for your entrance exams then that is called study gap..

All the companies generally want students who doesn't have any 'break' in their studies.
This 'break' refers to no year gap in your academic career.
It may be a break between your 10 and 10+2 or
It may be after your 10+2 academic career.
You have to show proper reasons behind your 'break'.
So, try not to have such kind of 'gap' in your career.

i am doing my third year engineering in electronics,but i have had 2 years gap during the course but i do fit in the percentile criteria so far and also done some extracurricular technical events like paper presentations etc and won national level techfests,will that help and am i eligible for campus recruitments for the companys like infosys next year??

Gap is not related with 10th or 12th,my lots of frnd is wrkng in wipro,they told me that gap is only means your B.Tech,how many yr u have completed carrer,so every one relax,myself have 3 yrs gap betwn 12 and engg,so i am eligible,and i am appearing in aptitude test,so frnds all the very best.
