What do mean by social system and social institution?

Social system is a system which is made by the people in a society organized by a characteristic pattern of relationships.

A social institution refers to an interworking web of people, social groups, positions, and with a purpose of performing a social role.There are five social institutions on which society revolves and if any of the institution become weak that it result in destruction and disturbance of society.
Some of the main functions of social institution are as under.
THE BASIC INSTITUTIONS
FAMILY
RELIGION
GOVERNMENT
ECONOMICS

Social Institution:
A social institution may be defined
as an organizational system which
functions to satisfy basic social
needs by providing an ordered
framework linking the individual to
the larger culture.
Institutions are established and accepted
routines.

The Basic Institutions:
Family
2.Religion
3.Education
4.Politics
5.Economics
6.Law
7.Medicine
8.Science
9.Military

Social System:
Social systems are self-referential systems

based on meaningful communication. They
use communication to constitute and
interconnect the events (actions) which build
up the systems.

Economic System
Political System
Religious System
Education System

So the difference is here:
Education is a social system but science , medicine are institution.
