Yes, you are You need to do M.Sc. in biotechnology first and then you can apply for PhD.
however there are institutes thar provide integrated courses. you can apply for that. try your search in google, you will get it. |

you can not do p.hd. in biotech unless you have completed your master degree in biotech or any other relevent field.
however,you can opt for integrated course (m.sc.+p.hd.),which will save your one years. however,some foreign institutes have such program (mbbs+p.hd) etc. |

yes you can do phd in biotecnology .but you can only do integrated phd(msc+phd in biotecnology)
and if you want honours degree then you have to do bsc biotech(H),msc biotech(H),and phd by qualifing net exam |

Hello nisat,
Yes you are eligible for IIT-JAM entrance exam,but it will be better if you appear for it after b.sc. because it is not an easy task to crack it,after your b.sc. you willbe able to fully concentrate on it. Best of luck |

eligibility criteria in some of the reputed institutes is :-
A First Class or above with 60% marks or equivalent Grade Point Average in all examinations: 10th, 12th, Degree and Post-graduate course. Age of less than 28 years as on June 1, 2010. Should hold a valid Fellowship from UGC/CSIR/ICMR/KSCSTE/ Category A of DBT. Mere NET qualification is not sufficient. best of luck |

Eligibility Criteria:
Candidates should have a First Class Bachelor’s degree in Biology/ Chemistry/Physics/Mathematics. Candidates having First Class B.E./B.Tech/B.Stat/B.A. with Mathematics as one of the subjects can also apply for mathematical Sciences discipline. I have completed Msc biotechnology. I got 84% in bsc n 89% in msc but my 10 and 12 result is under 60% percent. Will i be eligible for phd? I want to do phd in biotech on the topic cancer. So please suggest whether it is good to do phd in india or abroad? |

Does anyone know whether it is possible to get PhD with 50% in MSc. in Biochemistry ( I got MSc in Biochemistry from University of Pune). I would like to conduct PhD and I am a foreigner. Please give me the names of those universities where it is possible to get it. I am searching for universities all over India but could not find even 1 university with such eligibility so far. Please help me!!!!!!

No, you cannot do Ph. D. directly after MBBS. Firstly you will have to do M. Sc. or M. E. or M. Tech. in Biotechnology and then you do Ph. D. in Biotechnology because for doing Ph. D., master's degree is required and MBBS is a bachelor's degree.

I have b.tech in biotechnology & biochemical engineering and have also taken mtech in technology mangement which was an inter disciplinary course..now i would like to do Phd in biotechnology...am i eligible for that? if not what should i do for the same?.....am i atleast eligible to write the csir-ugc-net examination??.. |
