The eligibility of Bachelor of Education in government college is same as private colleges. There is no difference. Bachelor of Education is one year long course which is generally pursued by candidates interested in becoming teacher.

This course can be taken after completing any graduation degree. Depending on your graduation course, you will learn to teach school students different subjects. For example, arts graduates are taught subjects such as Geography, History and Languages.

After completing Bachelor of Education, you should apply for government teaching job. The Central Teachers Eligibility Test is conducted by the Central Board of Secondary Education on the behalf of Ministry of Human Resources and Development.

B.Ed Eligibility

1. A bachelor degree in any stream.

2. Minimum of 50 percent marks.

3. OBC candidates need 45 percent marks.

4. SC/ST candidates are required 40 percent marks.

To seek admission in a government college you will have to appear for entrance exam. Below is the exam pattern of the B.Ed entrance exams.

Exam Pattern

General Awareness Test

Teaching Potential Test

General Mental Ability Test

Language Proficiency Test

Language Proficiency Test: English and/or Hindi

B.Ed. is Bachelor of Education course for becoming teacher in schools.

To become eligible for B.Ed course you have to complete Graduation from a UGC recognised University with atleast 50% marks .

In some Universities 50% is not required but in most of the good Universities ask for 50% criteria.

After completing Graduation you can apply for B.Ed entrance examination of various Universities. If you get a good rank then you will get a good college.

To get a government college you have to get very good marks in the B.Ed entrance examination.

The criteria for admission is same for Private and Government colleges.

After doing B.Ed you can apply for teacher job in Private schools. But if you want to get a Government teachers job then you have to qualify TET .

TET is Teachers Eligibility Test for those who have completed B.Ed and want to get a government teacher job.
