Re: What is the expected salary for Airline Pilots?
Salaries vary according to the airline that you are employed with, the type of aircraft you are flying and your experience. A pilot employed with a small regional airline may earn an annual income of as little as £18,000. A first officer working with one of the larger airlines can earn between £38,000 and £48,000. An experienced captain flying long-haul can earn up to £140,000 (salary data collected Jan 09).
• A pilot's salary tends to increase with each year of service with a company. A pilot's salary tends to increase with each year of service with a company. • Benefits usually include uniform, pension scheme, various allowances and discounted travel. • Pilots are expected to work shift patterns, meaning that they may have to work unusual hours. It is definitely not a nine to five job. The working day can vary in length, with some days being up to 12 hours, while other days are only three to four hours. Thanks! |

Re: What is the expected salary for Airline Pilots?
Dear friend,
The earning of Pilots is very high. They can earn a huge amount of salary in a very little time. The salary of Pilots is not fixed. It depends on the type of pilot you are like whether you are airline, military or corporate/charter. The average salary of commercial airliners is:- (a) In starting the salary ranges from 70,000 Rs/month (as in Indian Airlines). (b) Middle level pilots earn 2,00,000 Rs/month onwards (Like in Jet Airways, Sahara and other private airlines) (c) Senior commanders earn 5,00,000 Rs/month onwards (like a commander of Air India). You will also get some extra flying allowance and other extra perks. Company will also pay you other allowances and facilities. The pilots of private jet planes get much more salary in compared to senior commanders. |
