I have scored 23.33 in gate 2015 (chemical engineering) in OBC category for which the qualifying score was 24.77 . what can i do with this score as i am not qualified for getting a score card. i also have a job experience of 1.5 years. will this things help me in getting a good intitute for m.tech this year ???

You will be considered as non qualified candidate only, since your score is not above the qualifying marks.

You can re appear for gate exam in the next year to join post graduation in engineering at top institutes in India.

There are no limitations to attempt gate exam.

The vslidity of gate score is three years.

Many public sector units also recruit employees through gate score. After shortlisting, you will be called for personal interview.

GATE stands for the Graduate Aptitude test in Engineering. It is online test conducted by Indian Institute of Technology every year for candidates of bachelor's degree in technology or engineering.

This entrance exam gives you two opportunities:

1. Chance of pursuing Master's degree in technology from top reputed institutes like Indian Institute of Technology, NITs etc.

2. Getting shortlisted by Public Sector Undertakings for government jobs.

Honestly speaking, as you have mentioned that you have not cleared the cut off of the Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering of your stream, you will not be able to get admission in any good engineering colleges for Master's degree in technology.

So, it is better to appear for the GATE exam once more as there is no limit on number of attempts with good preparation and try to score well in GATE exam so that you can get good engineering colleges for your master's degree.

There will no value for your GATE rank if your rank is below the qualifying marks.
The minimum qualifying marks in GATE-2015 was 24.77 and you got only 23.33 it means you have not cleared the cut of level.

There is no meaning of such rank because rule is rule for every one.
One the basis of the rank all the next process will be conducted means allocation of seats in Government as well as private college for the M.tech course.

Also students clearing the Cut off marks are called for an interview process in the top most PSUs companies.
But when you will not clear the cut off marks nothing is going to be happen with you. So I advice you to please go for the preparation and do your best in the next year.

Hello,
Dont be disheartenend ,
But to put it across bluntly..you cannot do anything with that score;
Experience doesn't count in applying for masters degree,it's all about GATE score!!
If you want to make it count then, cross that eligibility line next time..
Disqualified score is of no use in getting in PSU's or securing a seat in some good institute for M.Tech.
Dont just keep "qualifying it" as your target,
Even if you had got 24.77(the qualifying score),the competition and percentile would have brought you amongst nowhere in the crowd.

Even if you score by ten points more,You have chances to be in 90's percentile.A score that would give you lot of options to be in some institute of M.Tech or to apply in some PSU

Your Gate score is not upto the level, so according to me you get nothing with this gate score. I think you have to work hard and give the exam once more so that you can get good marks only then you can get a good institute for M.tech. Job experience will not going to help you in written examination but yes they can ask questions from that area when you go for interview.

If you don't have the Valid Score Card of GATE,You can also get the admission in private college for M.Tech.Around every State conducts Entrance Exam for this.You have to pass that exam and secured good marks if you want to take the government college or a private reputed college.Some Colleges conducts Scholarship tests for the students who want to admit in M.Tech,you can also register for that and get the scholarship for M.Tech.
