There are lots of advantages of having a B.Tech degree in ECE. ECE students are eligible to apply in IT field as well as the various core companies and organizations. If you are entering in to the IT field, then you will be able to get a high position from the beginning of your career. But it is always better to join any of the Public sector companies. They will give you a good salary as well as a lot of other benefits. Some of the companies are DRDO, HAL, ISRo etc.

Since u r a student of ece you can go for software as well as core sector jobs.There are some software companies which pays you good like:
oracle
accenture
ibm
(bt need to have a through knowledge of the software subjects like C and Data Structure,C++,Networking then only you will get selected).
ECE jobs:
There are some very prestigious xms which you can appear as an ece engineer and they also offer good salary:

For ECE there are many job offers in software and govt fields.

In software you have:

Infosys,wipro,tcs,hp,ibm......etc

In govt field you have DRDO,ISRo.....etc

In any field starting salary will be low with some experience you can earn more.
