Company Secretary Course

The CS course is divided into three courses/programs.

Foundation Program, Executive Program and Professional Program

The Foundation Program comprises of 4 papers.
i) English and Business Communication
ii) Economics and Statistics
iii) Financial Accounting
iv) Elements of Business Laws and Management

The Executive Program comprises of 6 papers divided into 2 Modules.
Module I
i) General and Commercial Laws
ii) Company Accounts, Cost and Management Accounting
iii) Tax Laws
Module II
iv) Company Law
v) Economic and Labour Laws
vi) Securities Laws and Compliances

The Professional Program comprises of 8 papers divided into 4 Modules
Module I
i) Company Secretarial Practice
ii)Drafting, Appearances and Pleadings
Module II
iii) Financial, Treasury and Forex Management
iv) Corporate Restructuring & Insolvency
Module III
v) Strategic Management, Alliances and International Trade
vi) Advanced Tax Laws and Practice
Module IV
vii) Due Diligence and Corporate Compliance Management
viii) Governance, Business Ethics and Sustainability

To join the course you will have to register for the course first
and after registration you can apply for the examination.

If you are just 12th (or equivalent) passed then you can apply for
Foundation Program. After qualifying Foundation Course Examination
you can apply for Executive Program. After qualifying the
Executive Course Examination
you can apply for Professional Program.

If you are a Graduate then you can apply directly apply for
Executive Program without having qualified the Foundation Program.

To get the final certificate for CS qualification you will have to do
15 month Management Training in companies. The training is sponsored
by institute (ICSI) itself.

You can register for the course anytime in a year.
The examination of its various programs are held twice a year.
One in June and another in December month every year.

CS course details :

CS course at the intermediate level consists of only theoretical examination
there are 12 subjects arranged into 2 groups of 4 papers each of 100 marks
to pass a student has to obtain a min of 40% in each paper & an aggregate of 50% in all the papers of a group together , failing which the students has to reappear in all the papers of the group again

A student has to get through these to be eligible to go for the neat level i.e final

from foundation (or)
after graduation (10+2+3)
intermediate

as you have completed your ca ipcc you are very much eligible for cs executive,

as per the latest notification of icsi i.e institute of company secretary of india you can directly go for cs executive if you have qualified cpt of icai

cpt of icai has been titled a equivalent degree to foundation of icsi,

so you can get registered from icsi for cs executive,

for registration via online visit icsi.edu
