Which optional subjects will be helpful for Preliminary and Main Exam?


Can any one tell me that which optional subjects will be more help full for both prili n main?

Dear friend,

For IAS exam there are so many subject so you can choose as your best.

candidate have to choose two subjects from a list of 25 optional subjects.You can choose the subject as your strength.

Following are the not allowed combinations in the UPSC syllabus-

Political Science International relations and Public Administration,
Commerce Accountancy and Management,
Anthropology and Sociology,
Mathematics and Statistics,
Agriculture and Animal Husbandry Veterinary Science,
Management and Public Administration,
Any TWO branches of Engineering,
Medical Science and Animal Husbandry Veterinary Science,
Combination of TWO Literature

You did not mention about the entrance you were talking about.

I am sending you the information regarding IAS

Before choosing optional subjects candidate should think about:

1) Interest:
You choose the subject which has aptitude and you need to spend 100s of hours on the subject which have you selected on your interest.

2) Availability:
Be sure of the guidance,material,coaching of the optional subject you have chosen. Proper guiding availability would be useful for you.

3) Subject Knowledge:
You can take Graduation/Post-Graduation subjects if you have good knowledge on them. But do not go for the subject in which you have less knowledge.
