Re: What is the maximum age limit to appear for NET SET written exam?
NET is short for National Eligibility Test while SET stands for State Eligibility Test. Both exams are conducted for same purpose. The admission for Junior Research Fellowship is done via these exams.
At the same time lecturer hiring in government colleges is also done through these entrance exams. National Eligibility Test is national level exam which is conducted by the University Grants Commission. On the other hand, State Eligibility Test is conducted in various states. Each state conduct a separate entrance exam according to its need. The purpose of both exams is to improve quality of education in government colleges by hiring eligible teachers. This is like the Teachers Eligibility Test which is conducted to improve educational standards at the government schools. Same is the case with National Eligibility Test. Age limit which you wanna know depends of whether you are applying for lectureship or Junior Research Fellowship. Then the category of student also plays role in the age limit. I have explained it in detail below. What you should know is that the criteria is same for both the exams. NET Eligibility 1. You should have Indian citizenship. 2. Qualification required is post graduation degree. 3. Final year students of post graduation can also apply. 4. You should secure 55 percent in post graduation. 5. SC/ST should secure 50 percent marks. 6. While for OBC, there is no relaxation. 7. The final year students have to mandatory submit degree in 2 years. 8. Age limit is 19 to 28 years if applying for JRF. 9. However OBC gets 3 years relaxation. 10. Same is 5 years for SC and ST. 11. You can apply for lectureship is older than 19 years. 12. There is no upper age limit for lectureship. |
