Respected Sir/Mam, My daughter's date of birth is 07-07-2004. She is in class 9th this year. We resides in Rajasthan. Is my daughter eligible to write exam of 10th class next year? If her age is short what is the remedy and procedure.?
Please guide me it's very urgent.

Below is the minimum age required to appear for 10th CBSE Board in 2018.

Minimum age : 14 years

Maximum age : 18 years.

Now your daughter age is 13 years and studying 9th class.

So, next year she will complete 14 years and also complete 10th class.

So, you daughter is completely eligible to appear for 10th CBSE Board Exams in the year 2018.

CBSE refers to Central Board of Secondary Education and same is one of the three national board of education in India offering education upto higher secondary school degree in English medium with its affiliated school all around India.

As far as you are concerned about the minimum age limit for appearing in CBSE Class 10th board examination then it is 14 years by the 1st October of that year in which student is pursuing his/her Class 10th.

Further as you have mentioned that your daughter's date of birth is 7th July 2004 and she is pursuing her Class 9th right now which means she will start her Class 10th academics from March 2018 and hence as per the age criteria mentioned above she will be eligible for appearing in her Class 10th board examination in March 2019 as her age exceeds 14 years by October 2018.

Further I would also let you know that your daughter will not be eligible to appear in CBSE Class 10th board examination 2018 as her age will be lower than the minimum age criteria required for appearing in the same examination.

Central Board of Secondary Education has just put following condition to appear for tenth board examination:

Student must have studied upto standard ninth and in ninth standard, he/she should register for board exam of tenth.

If your daughter is studying in ninth standard and have registered for board exam then undoubtedly she is eligible for secondary board exam next year, she will also attain 14 years on 7th July, 2018.

The minimum age required while appearing in the 10th board examination is 15 years as per the CBSE guidelines.

If your daughter falls short of age, there is no remedy instead of dropping one year and appear in the next year.

You can capitalize this one extra year after passing 12th as the drop year for the studies of competitive exams though.
