What is NDA criteria for HSE students?


Sir,I'm from Kerala...I'm a twelfth standard student and I follow HSE syllabus,as I'm in HSE student...will my marks in plus one be added up along with my plus two marks?

Higher Secondary Candidates are eligible to apply for National Defence Academy Examination . This exam being conducted twice in a year by Union Public Service Commission .

Minimum Qualification applying for NDA Examination is that the student need to finished their intermediate / Higher Secondary examination / 10+2 Pattern of School Education from a recognized University or equivalent qualification .

Stage of NDA Examination ::
  • Written Test and SSB Interview
  • Medical Test

Pattern of NDA Examination ::
  • General ability
  • Mathematics

Mainly NDA Exam is conducted for admission to following Defence Services ::

~~ Army wings
~~ Navy wings
~~ Air force wings .

Eligibility Criteria for NDA Examination ::

The applicant need to completed their 12th School education with Physics and Mathematics as compulsory subject to apply for Navy wings / Air force wings . There is no percentage criteria required to apply . Minimum Marks is enough to crack this examination .

Those who have not studied Mathematics and Physics subjects then they are eligible to apply for Army wings . There is no specific subject required for Army wings . The applicant who are appearing in the final year of 12th exam may also eligible to apply for this examination .

Age limits :: The Applicant Age should be between 16.5 years and 19 years .

Sex and Marital Status :: Unmarried Male candidates are eligible to apply for NDA Examination .

National Defence Academy (NDA) Examination is an national level entrance examination conducted by Union Public Service Commission (UPSC). Examination is conducted twice in a year in the month of May andDecember.

To be eligible for NDA examination, candidate must be male Indian citizen within age limit of 16 to 19 as on the date of examination. As per the academic qualification eligibilty citeria, candidate must have completed 10+2 from a recognised board of senior school board of examination or its equivalent. Candidates of all streams viz. Arts, Commerce and Science are eligible to appear for examination. But if candidate wish to join Air Force or Navy wings than they must have studied Physics and Mathematics at 10+2 level.

There is no minimum percentage of 10+2 scores that candidates are required to be eligible for examnation and your 10+1 marks won't be significant to determine your eligibilty for NDA examination.

For upcoming NDA examination notification, you should regularly refer "Employment Newspaper" or you may visit www.upsc.gov.in

NDA - National Defence Academy


The eligibility criteria for the NDA exam :


** 10+2 passed or appearing from a recognized board with mathematics or english as compulsory subjects.

** The age limit is 16.5 to 19 years.

** You must be unmarried male INDIAN.

** You should be physically and mentally fit.

NDA - National Defence Academy, the entrance exam for which is conducted by UPSC twice every year as NDA-I and NDA-II for an entry in to Indian Army, Navy and Air Force wing of NDA.

Eligibility Criteria for NDA:-

-The eligible candidate must be an Indian unmarried Male candidate only.
-Should have either appear for the final 12th exam or pass in any stream from a recognised Board.
-Should be within the age of 16.5 to 19 years with no upper age relaxation for reserved candidate.
-The candidate should have possessed good Physical and Mental health.

The candidate having studied Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics in 12th, is eligible to apply for all the three wings of NDA but the candidate without having the above subjects, is only eligible to apply for Indian Army of NDA.

The selection is through written exam followed by Personal Interview along with Physical Fitness and Medical Test.

Dear razordiaz,

The Acronym "NDA" Stands for National Defense Academy. The Union Public Service Commission conducts an examination twice every year for the selection of interested candidates in the following wings of Indian Defense :

* Indian Army

* Indian Navy

* Indian Air Force

The NDA-I Exam is conducted in the month of April whereas the NDA-II Exam is conducted in August.

For the year 2013, the NDA-I Exam has already been conducted and the NDA-II Exam is going to be conducted in this month.

The Exam is conducted in three phases and candidates need to qualify in all the three phases so that they can join any of the above mentioned wings as per their rank in the exam.

The Different Stages in which NDA Exam is conducted are :

* Written Examination

* SSB Interview

* Medical Test

The Eligibility Criteria for NDA Exam for all candidates (including HSE Students) are :

* The candidate must have passed 12th from any recognized board.

* Candidates must have passed 12th with PCM as main subjects.

* Candidates appearing in std 12th can also apply for the same.

* The age of the candidate must lie in between 16.5-19 yrs.

* No Upper age relaxation is granted to candidates by the UPSC.

* The candidate must be a male as female candidates are not eligible to apply for this exam.

* The candidate must be unmarried.

* The candidate must be physically and mentally fit.

* The candidate must be an Indian Citizen.

Dear Aspirant,




$$ NDA stands for the National Defense Academy this exam is conducted by the Union Public Service Commission twice time in the year as NDA-I and NDA-II exam......

NDA Generally conducted in the three wings:

1). Indian Army,
2). Indian Navy and
3). Indian Air Force......

$$ NDA consists the stages :
  1. Written Exam,
  2. SSB Interview and
  3. Medical Test.


Written Exam

Consists Preliminary examination paper and the Main Examination paper. This Two papers consist 900 marks togather......

SSB Interview

This section also consists 900 marks which is the Test of Intelligence of the Candidate. then the final stage is of

Medical Test for that a candidate must have to be Physically as well as Mentally strong......

A candidate must have to Qualify all of above stages......


Eligibility and Criteria:-


$$ A candidate must have Nationality of India....

$$ A candidate after completing their 12th Science with the PCM Stream that is Physics, Chemistry and Maths subjects can apply for this examination....

$$ A candidate from the Other Stream can also apply for this exam but, for only army wings.....

$$ Age of candidate should be between 16 1/2 to 19 years.....

$$ No age Relaxation...

$$ Only Unmarried Male candidate are applicable....




Physical Requirement:-


$$ Chest Expansion minimum 5 Cm.

$$ Height of candidate should be at least 152 Cm.

$$ Weight according to height.

$$ Left Eye vision 6/9.

$$ Right eye vision 6/6.
