Re: What options are there after BCA? Which university or college is the best?
Some of the higher studies options after BCA are Post Graduate Programme in Corporate Studies (PGPCS), MCA, Post Graduate Diploma in Computer Applications, MBA in Information Technology, etc. A few colleges for higher studies are Anna University, Thapar University, National Institute of Technology, Acharya Institute of Management and Sciences, J.D Women’s College, etc. These candidates have great career prospects in various fields like programming, networking, system administration, etc. Most of the organizations like Telecommunication sector, Dairy sector, Banking sector, etc require BCA candidates in their IT sections. Some other areas are MTNL, ONGC, BSNL, Bharat Petroleum, etc.

MCA is the best course after BCA that you can pursue....because BCA students already have a base formed which is required for MCA.
There are so many certified courses you can do after BCA or along with it.... like courses on: VB.NET C# SQL JAVA HTML Networking Oracle ASP.NET etc.... most of these courses are done as a part of training by the college. and you also get certificate for those courses from those companies under whom you are doing the course..... The top colleges and Universities in India for MCA are--- Indira Gandhi National Open University (IGNOU), Birla Institute of Technology and Science (BITS), Sikkim Manipal University, Banaras Hindu University (BHU), NSHM, Delhi University, University of Pune. The fee structure for MCA varies from college to college.... It is for government and different for Private college... In govt colleges it is comparatively less than private colleges. For example.... the fees per semester in IGNOU is up to Rs.12,200 excluding the elective subject charges...while in institutes such as BITS, it reaches to Rs.30,000 per semester. |

Re: What options are there after BCA? Which university or college is the best?
Hi
BCA - Bachelor in Computer Applications. This is basically a graduation course of duration 3 years full time. Basic Eligibility Criteria for this course is that one should be a minimum 12th pass from a recognized school or state board in India. Also maths in 12th is compulsory for taking up this course. Now after one finishes the BCA course, he/she has got many streams to follow : You may work as software developer, designer, network analyzer, network security etc.. If you plan to study further more, then you should go for the Masters in Computer Applications (MCA). This would take two years and then you would be eligible for better job opportunities, pay packages, etc.. You can also start teaching after completion of this course. Otherwise, you may start preparing for the MBA entrances like CAT, XAT, MAT, GMAT, GRE, SNAP etc.. IIM's are regarded as the best colleges in India for the MBA course. You may also start preparing and try for the IAS, IPS and other civil services examinations. Hope this helps All the best |
