Re: What preparation is required for GMAT/CAT?
You need be a graduate first, so first better you concentrate on exams to get into a graduation course. For example if you are getting to engineering, then you need to pass entrance exams. If you have already got admission to any graduation course, you can start your preparation by joining long terms coaching programs of institutes like IMS, TIME, Brillance and so on.

Re: What preparation is required for GMAT/CAT?
first of all cat and gmat are different from each other except one basic similarity that both test aptitude of a student on same areas(logical reasoning, quantitative aptitude,verbal)....in cat logical reasoning, quantitative aptitude are on tougher side as compared to gmat whereas in gmat verbal is on tougher side as compared to cat........don't join an coaching center as of now....relax for 1 yr and then start prep fro 2nd yr onwards.....2 yrs part-time prep is sufficient to get into top colleges.....

Re: What preparation is required for GMAT/CAT?
Hello friend
It is good that you are thinking of CAT/GMAT at this stage only. First you have to be a graduate in any discipline just to be eligible to sit for the exam. For the preparation few points must be remembered. 1) practice and practice and practice ("mantra" to your success) 2) time management 3) Patience 4)making sure that you are well acquainted with the general knowledge (this will help you in GD as well as in PI). 5) resources must be kept handy. 6) good coaching. for this you may join either any coaching institute or consult any private tutor or be in touch with any knowledgeable person best wishes |

Re: What preparation is required for GMAT/CAT?
Hello,
I am a B.E graduate 2011 pass-out and I am working for an Service based company as a Software Engineer where I have signed a Service Agreement for 18 months. My role in this job is of a software developer in JAVA. I thinking of pursuing MBA after 2 yrs of exp. Can some one tell me if I have done proper planning or should I work for some more years and become a Tech lead and then go for CAT? Though I am technically good. I don't want to continue in technical stream in long term. When is the ideal time to start preparing for me? |
