Re: What is the procedure to join IAF as Pilot?
IAF stands for the Indian Airforce. If you want to join IAF as pilot, you must appear for the AFCAT exam.
AFCAT stands for the Airforce Common Admission Test. This is organized every year twice by the Indian Airforce for recruiting candidates to different branch like: Flying branch. Technical Branch. Ground Duty Branch. For flying branch, a candidate must have done bachelor of engineering or technology from a recognized university. Even if you have done bachelor's degree in physics or mathematics, you can apply for the exam. The age limit for flying branch is 19-23 years. AFCAT consists of written test and Service Selection Board. Written test consists general ability paper and Engineering Knowledge Test. General ability test consists of questions from English, General awareness, reasoning and aptitude. EKT consists of questions from core stream of engineering and is of 45 minutes. After clearing written test, you will have to appear for the Service Service Board. For becoming pilot, you need to clear Pilot Aptitude Battery test.
