Default Re: What should I do between BCA and B.Com? I have scored 80% marks in 12th class

i will give you scope of both.u decide which is best suited to u

1.Scope of BCA

Earlier, Bachelor of Computer Application is one of the demanding courses in India. There are many students who have made a dream of becoming a BCA graduate. But nowadays, the scope for BCA is slowly coming down. Today the bachelors’ courses in India are not given much importance. This is because many students are going for Masters degree courses and they are not stopping their studies till bachelors degree.

BCA is a Bachelor of Computer Applications. IT is booking in India. There are many national IT companies like Infosys, Wipro, Reliance, TCS, etc. which are looking for the qualified BCA students. Apart from this, there are many international companies like Vodafone, AT&T, etc. who are also stepping forward to take these BCA students. These companies are giving much importance to the Engineers with IT as their specialisation. This makes it little bit tough for a BCA to get a good job in a good company. There are many other non-IT companies who are in requirement of an IT person to take care of their software programs. A BCA is also having a scope in those companies.

On an average, the student of BCA gets Rs. 17,000 to Rs. 20,000 per month. This amount is not too high for a student who is living in a big city where cost of living is too high. The promotions for a BCA are very less frequent. It is recommended by the experts that if a BCA graduate completes his Masters in Computer Applications, then the chances of getting a good placement are too high. MCA degree is considered very high in terms of the qualification. It is very easy for an MCA graduate to take over an engineering guy with IT. The average salary of an MCA graduate is Rs. 35,000 to Rs. 45,000 provided the student has completed it from recognized university and with good marks. The salary can further be increased by having some work experience in some good company with good profile.

2.scope of b.com
The B.Com programme pro*vides a good base for a range of careers. These are broadly of two types — those related to business and finance such as chartered accountancy, company secretaryship, and cost and works accountancy (CWA), banking and so on, and the non-finance fields such as law, civil services, mass communication, [...]

With a B.com hons. you will have an option for Chartered accountancy, Cost accountant, Company secretary, chartered financial analyst. Also you could consider options in Management, Accounting, Media, Hospitality, IT, Academics, Social Work and Law, to name a few. However the same would apply for economics Hons. as well. An Honours degree in Economics consolidates and extends your understanding and knowledge of general economics. It enables you to pursue more specialised study in some area of particular interest to you. Commerce is a division of trade or production which deals with the exchange of goods and services from producer to final consumer. It comprises the trading of something of economic value such as goods, services, information or money between two or more entities. Commerce functions as the central mechanism which drives capitalism and certain other economic systems. Commerce primarily expresses the fairly abstract notions of buying and selling. Economics is the branch of social science that studies the production, distribution, and consumption of goods and services. However your chances of getting through an MBA after the hons degree is more. As both B.Com and Economics hons students are given some priority. The choice of course is yours. Your job prospects on graduation are likely to be greatly enhanced, and your chances of promotion are also likely to be stronger than those of a corresponding pass graduate. The Honours degree also opens up many avenues for advanced postgraduate study. You are better qualified on graduation, than a pass graduate. Hope this helps. If you need further help or guidance, you could revert.

Hey friend,

First of all to tell about these courses it is that:

BCA stands for Bachelor of Computer Application

B.com stands for Bachelor of Commerce

These two courses are known as UG courses and they are of 3 years duration courses.

As you have asked what should you choose as having completed +2,it purely depends upon your interest.

As per BCA if you interested in computers and if you have completed +2 with maths as subject you can join in this course.

And regarding B.com if you are interested in Maths and accounts you can opt this course and you need to have completed +2 in commerce stream for doing this course.

This is the major difference between these courses and the decision is clearly yours as it is your future to withhold.

ALL THE BEST

Firstly i would like to congrats you for scoring 80% marks in boards.
See it all depend upon your area of interest as both BCA and Bcom are finest courses.
BCA deals with computer applications so if you are interested in softwares and all and have opted information practices in 12th then you shoul go with BCA.It has great job oppurtunities too.
Bcom is bachelor of commerce which includes accounting etc.,,its of your stream only.So you can do commerce from top colleges under DU and can get handsome packages after Bcom.
choice is all yours.
