i'm an engineering student (7th sem),what should i do get placed in a good company after engineering?

myself currently studying engg. in TE
i sought admission in engg in IT in the year 2006-2007
ad i m in TE right nw in the year 2012-2013....i will get admitted this year to TE
tt means i have a 5 year gap in my engg study and my age currently is 26
i am very much tensed about whether in future i will get a gud job in an IT company
coz of my 5 year gap period and my age also will be 28 when i will complete my BE

i am not certain about my future so i need help and advice and suggesstions
whether or not any company would hire me a job or not
even though i have good technical knowledge but they would reject me for
my year gap and also my age limit seems to cross the border line

pls some one help me out of this

i need to know whethe i have job opportunity or not
coz if not i guess i should quit engg then

pls i need answer to my question
