1]Before putting them to the edge of difficulty catch their hearts and convince them you are with them.
2]scolding wont do anything good.
3]Dont push them to what they dont like.
4]give them the freedom to choose their career.
5]Respect their thoughts.
6]simply sitting beside them with a sweet smile lesson their burden.
7] they must study not of fear on you but of love on you.

Yes, today's education system has put in a a lot of trouble for the students and a lot of pressure to handle with. I am some what confused with your question because from one side you asked the opinion about parents and the second one about student's opinion to break the jinx.

From Parent's point of view

You need to look up your child right from his schooling age.Well, there are many schools which are coming up which keep out advertisements/posters mentioning about their success.Their success may be right but all the parents need to think is "was it all practical knowledge which has come in to the marks ?"

I have seen students scoring bulk marks both in their 10th and Intermediate(12th) but failing to score in Engineering.Scoring is an easy task in both 10th and 12th Standards but its not possible in Engineering because in B.E/B.Tech practical knowledge is more important which many students lack in.

Don't put in pressure on your children and just make their aims and ambitions come true.

Student's point of view

You can follow quite a few things to get successful. It's not all about marks you need to think about but about the knowledge you grab in from your subjects. When you gain knowledge the marks will flow out automatically.Just avoid night outs and give sufficient breaks when your going through all your subjects.Avoid night outs and last minute studies to be successful.

parents have a very negative poibt regarding the studies at low level .many parents dream unexpectedly very high for the future of their child and because of such expectation they force their child to do extremely well in lower classes because of which the student suffer a lot in higher classes because he/she have got the habit of studying under the force of someone ,which doesnot help in getting good grades in higher classes.so dont force children from small age other wise your dream will remain dream itself

Some people say that studies put burden on students but the fact is that more than the pressure of books ,students have pressure to fulfill their parents dream.so if you want to make your children away from stress please don't force them to study ,if they will realize that they have to study they will do it on their own
