What is the syllabus for the IAS entrance exam?


dear sir,please suggest me ias entrance course . because i am a newly students and i am not knowledge of ias course.

To become a IAS Officer then you need to crack the Civil Service Examination.

Civil Service Examination can be divided into three stages :- 1)Preliminary(CSAT) 2)Main examination 3)Personal Interview

Preliminary Examination Syllabus



UPSC Prelims Exam Syllabus 2012
Scheme of CS (Preliminary) Examination
The Preliminary Examination conducted by the UPSC consists of two papers of objective type (multiple-choice questions) carrying a maximum of 400 marks. The Question Papers (Test Booklets) are set in English & Hindi

Civil Services Aptitude Test
The new Recruitment Process of Civil Services Exam conducted by the UPSC (Union Public Service Commission) is called the CSAT or the Civil Services Aptitude Test. The CSAT is coming into effect from the Civil Services Examination, 2011. CSAT will not only enable us to choose civil servants with right aptitudes but also end the use of scaling system for varying subjects that has been a matter of concern for many. No changes are being introduced at this stage in the Civil Services (Main) Examination and Personality Test in the scheme of Civil Services Examination (CSE).
From Civil Service Examination 2011, Preliminary Examination would consist of two papers- Paper I and Paper II. The syllabus and pattern of the Preliminary Examination would be as under :
(Paper 1) (200 marks) - Duration : Two hrs.
Current events of national and international importance
History of India and Indian national movement
Indian and World Geography- physical, social, economic geography of India and the world
Indian Polity and governance – constitution, political system, panchayati raj, public policy, Rights issues, etc.
Economic and social development – sustainable development, poverty, inclusion, demographics, social sector initiatives etc.
General issues on environmental ecology, bio-diversity and climate change-that donot require subject specialization
General science.
(Paper II) (200 marks) – Duration: Two hrs
Comprehension
Interpersonal skills including communication skills
Logical reasoning and analytical ability
Decision making and problem solving
General mental ability
Basic numeracy (numbers and their relations, orders of magnitude etc. (Class X level), Data interpretation (charts, graphs, tables, data sufficiency etc. –Class X level)
English language comprehension skills (Class X level)
Questions relating to English Language Comprehension skills of Class X level (last item in the Syllabus of Paper-II) will be tested through passages from English language only without providing Hindi translation thereof in the question paper.
The questions will be of multiple choice, objective type.

Dear Aspirant

To join IAS i.e. Indian Administrative Service, you have to appear in Civil Service Exam conducted annually by UPSC{Union Public Service Commission}.

- To apply for IAS, you should have completed Graduation in any stream from recognized institute/University. Your Age must be between 21 to 33 years for General category, 21 to 35 for OBC, 21 to 35 for SC/ST.


-Number of Permissible Attempts for IAS exam: 4 for General , 7 for OBC and Unlimited for SC/ST.





Pattern of IAS Civil Service examination:

The whole examination is conducted in three stages.

1. Preliminary Examination or CSAT(Civil Service Aptitude Test).

2. Main Examination

In Main Exam, You will have Two Optional Subjects(each having 2- papers) for Papers 6,7,8 & 9 that you can choose according to your Graduation stream.

IAS or Indian Administration Services is included in civil service whose exam is conducted by UPSC in the month of May every year.

IAS examination has two stages :
* Preliminary examination -
It consist a qualifying exam of objective type.
* Main Examination -
It consist of written exam and an interview.

* Academic Qualification :
It requires a degree from a recognised university or any equivalent to apply for this exam.
* Age Limit : The required age limit to apply for this examination is 21 years to 30 years.

IAS entrance examination has the following syllabus :
Paper I :

(i) History of Modern India and Indian Culture.
(ii) Geography of India.
(iii) Constitution of India.
(iv) Current National issues and topics of Social relevance.

UPSC Civil Services Exams are held in three stages:
Prelims
MAINS
Interview

In the prelims exams there are two Papers

Topics that are there in the two papers of the Prelims exams are:

Paper one
History of India and Indian National Movement.
Indian and World Geography - Physical, Social, Economic Geography of India and the World.
Indian Polity and Governance - Constitution, Political System, Panchayati Raj, Public Policy, Rights
Issues, etc.

There is no percentage criteria.....

Hai,

IAS stands for Indian Administrative Service.

UPSC conducting this exam every year once.


Eligibility criteria:-

The applicant must have to complete graduation in any stream from any recognised university of india.

There is no need of percentage restrictions in your graduation.

You must be a citizen of India.

Final year appearing candidates are also eligible.


Age criteria:-


The age limits are 21 years to 30 years,

3 years age relaxation for OBC category candidates,

5 years age relaxation for SC/ST category candidates.


Selection process:-

Civil Services Preliminary examination,

Civil Services Mains examination,

Personal Interview.


Syllabus:-

Paper-I:-

History of India and Indian National Movement,

Indian and World Geography- Physical, Social, Economic Geography of india and the world.
